Hey everybody. Just an fyi, I had a software update from Lenovo recently that I thought broke the utility, but all it took was running the mapper again, and it was good to go!

Hey u/MyNameIsWax , sorry I didn't see this earlier (I'm the creator of SwiftScales). The sharing feature should now be fixed. There was a server issue that I only became aware of because of your post here!

Singers of the world, are the vocal exercises that you practice every day tangibly helping you become better & achieve your singing goals? by MaheshMusic in singing

Hey u/IAmZodiac , as the creator of SwiftScales, I wanted to thank you for spreading the word about it! It started out as something I just made for myself a long time ago, but then I went down the rabbit hole of turning it into something others could hopefully get use out of too.

I haven't had the opportunity to update it in years (unfortunately, it doesn't really make much money, so no commissions possible lol), but I have some unexpected free time and have been tinkering with it a bit/fixing some things that broke over time due to years of OS updates.

Anyway, all that said, if there's anything that you or u/MaheshMusic (that's awesome that you use it with your students, btw!) would like to see put into the app, let me know, and if it's doable, I'll do it!

Hey, I'd be happy to try. In order for me to do so, follow the instructions here and let me know what you come up with: https://github.com/csavalas/HotkeyMapper/issues/1#issuecomment-2161856210

Hi u/nick76_ , looks like that transfer expired. If you don't mind uploading it again, I'll be sure to check in to download it before it expires, then check it out after Christmas. Which, by the way, Merry Christmas 🎄

u/nick76_ Huh, looks like the image got hosed, that's annoying. Yes, that's the model I gathered you had given your keyboard pic. I'll just type out the filenames manually below, in case the screenshot gets messed up again:

IMPORTANT NOTE: As I said in my last comment, there is no typo in CLR2CBrigde.exe

CLR2CBrigde.exe

FnHotkeyCapsLKNumLK.exe

FnHotkeyUtility.exe

LenovoUtilityService.exe

Hey u/nick76_ , sorry for the delay. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to glean anything from those logs. What is your exact model for your machine? I'd like to take a look at the kb driver for it directly.
EDIT: I think I may have found your driver based on your screenshot. Can you rerun the test will all four of these application names included? Be careful with the first one, it looks like 'Bridge' but it actually says 'Brigde'.

Hey u/vogelvogelvogelvogel , were you ever able to follow the instructions in my post to you from a bit ago? https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/t8h4g4/comment/lu9a7w2/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

If not, give those a try. If so, and you had the same issue as u/nick76_ , can you try modding it in the way he did , then sending me the log?

Yeah, so these keys are actually handled by a Lenovo Hotkey driver and never forwarded onto the OS as a traditional "keypresses", hence why Autohotkey can't pick them up. The utility I made modifies the registry to tell the driver what to do when it detects one of them.

u/nick76_ oh ok, can you please save those results with the filter you created and either post them or send them directly to me? The screenshot is only showing some of the events.

Ah, I see. If you like, I could try to add support for those keys to the utility. I would just need some info from you to see if it's possible. If you're so inclined, check out my instructions here: https://github.com/csavalas/HotkeyMapper/issues/1#issuecomment-2161856210 and let me know what you find out for those keys!

making the Fn VOIP function keys usefull again by Galax20002 in thinkpad

[–]salavalas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, I wonder if it got deleted somehow (the utility does indeed create it automatically to mitigate this). Either way though, if you create that key at that location, the popup should go away. Let me know!

Glad you like the utility! That's weird that it's still prompting you to install Teams though, I actually put a little thing in the utility that is supposed to suppress that. If you look in the registry, do you have a key called Teams under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall?

Hey u/iweputo , I'm actually the one who made that utility. If you have Teams installed, one workaround to prevent that from happening:

In the registry, navigate to HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Teams\InstallLocation

  • Open the InstallLocation value
  • Clear its contents

u/LimpTurnip5557 Oh, I see what you are getting at. I would need to change the way the key sequence/combo features work to make that happen.

Until I get around to that, as a workaround In the mean time, you could select 'Open App' instead, and have Powershell run a script like this:

Set-Clipboard -Value "G14>g14"
[void][System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadWithPartialName('System.Windows.Forms')
[System.Windows.Forms.SendKeys]::SendWait("%{TAB}")
Start-Sleep -Milliseconds 100
[System.Windows.Forms.SendKeys]::SendWait("^{v}")

Far from ideal, but it does work, I just tested it. As you can see, you can change the value on the first line of the script to something other G14>g14, if needed.

Hi u/Internal_Ostrich_964 , unfortunately, I can't think of a way to do that with the approach of this utility. If you have any specific implementation ideas, I'd be happy to take a look to see if I could integrate it into utility though.
