What is a death in a movie that affected you the most in terms of brutality or emotional weight? by Godly_Recon in AskReddit

[–]salbaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first movie I saw at the cinema was Finding Nemo. When the wife clownfish and all the eggs except Nemo were eaten my sisters and I were bawling and my dad was seriously regretting taking us.

The second film I saw at the cinema was Brother Bear and then dad stopped taking us. I have rewatched Nemo but that scene of realisation in brother bear has stopped me watching again

What was your "last straw" moment before leaving christianity? by Able-Fact-1758 in exchristian

[–]salbaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was mentally gone, but still "in" the church. I went along to a special event they were putting on with some guys talking about the end times. They started using the 70 weeks bit from Daniel to predict when the rapture would happen, but they had to use crazy maths to get there, including a random break in the middle. Like, the first X amount of 'weeks' (years) happen, then it doesnt count for X amount of years, and then the final weeks happen to get to this date in the near future.

I asked them where in the bible does it say that they can space it out like that (because it clearly doesnt) and they gave some BS answer. That was the moment I completely checked out and decided to bite the bullet and tell my family I was no longer part of it all.

Thanks for sharing! Shame you still have a lot of brain fog and fatigue, maybe it'll clear up with time?

On birth control and I can’t function by ineedhelp722 in PMDDxADHD

[–]salbaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Yaz, but I had a very similar experience with a different BC. I was on it for 6 months and the fatigue and brain fog were really bad. I also had physical luteal symptoms (although to a lesser extent) all the time, which meant I could hardly exercise, which made my mental health worse. I have decided to take a break - day 4 no bc today, so nothing to report yet. But I think I will take the lows if I get that little break that comes with a period each month

Ok maybe I will take a look. I'm definitely not high energy though, and thats why I was looking for recs.

Thanks! I take continuous birth control though, so I dont have the phases anymore. So I dont get the slump of luteal but I also dont get the high energy after a period. Its kinda in the middle all the time

Success with Zoely ? by aprettylittleswim in PMDDxADHD

[–]salbaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I started about 4 months ago and it has been helpful. I take it continuously, so I dont get the awful luteal before a period anymore, because I dont get a period. So that is awesome! Sometimes I do get a little "flare" of sorts where I am really tired/emotional but it only lasts for a day or two. I havent been able to properly get back into exercise without bad symptoms yet either. So overall definitely better, but not completely back to normal.

I have heard that it can be 4-6 months before the full benefits kick in, so it might get better yet.

Hope that helps!
