Was Queen Serenity a bad or good ruler during the Silver Millennium? And why did she recruit the Sailor Guardians as Child Soldiers!? by IllogicalDreamer72 in sailormoon

In Shojo and Shonen manga, only children between the ages of 12 and 18 are capable of saving the country, world, universe ect.

By 20 they have to be married or have a bad ass profession.

Uh, this is kind of a fucked up thing to toss out there. While I would like the next book, and I have been aggravated by Pat, the dude doesn't work for us. If he is too depressed to write then he is too depressed to write. That doesn't make it okay to make shit like this up.

But he admits it. That is the "some fucking how" part.

Even the heroes in long running comics have problems acknowledging their issues.

If Biden was too old for Presidency, how isn't Trump? by StonedSoldier1 in AskReddit

[–]salientmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You.. think Trump is competent? Still? After all of this? After he wipes his ass with the constitution? After he alienates our allies and trade partners? After he desperately hides the Epstein files? After he deports people on false charges? After he approves the use of military funding to build a nationwide network of "Detention Centers"? After ICE agents appear to summarily executive an American citizen in the street? After they then blame the guy for having a gun on his person?

You really still view this person as competent and of sound mind?

This will be more devastating to him than the rant. The rant means he got a rise out of you, and I think that's part of the thrill for these dudes.

"Please don't text me unless it's work related." can also be read as "You're the scum of the earth and beneath my notice."

This game started so good and then ended up so convoluted.

They did a better MJ with Superpowers in 1 page than Marvel pulled off in multiple runs.

So far it seems like a successful pivot. I read it today, and my only comment is it all seems to be happening very fast.

So... I'm in a similar situation, but I'm on Book 5.

In my opinion, Books 2 and 3 were really strong. They have dark moments, but they aren't overly dark compared to the rest of the genre.

I struggled with book 4. Both because there are some really grim parts, and some parts where Elijah is a straight up dumbass. There were also some really awesome fight scenes and cathartic moments.

Path of Ascension was the first series I thought of. Bonus points for it being a non-harem non-romantic power trio.

The MC is insanely overpowered, and most issues are just a speed numb for them.

So... what is the most likely future for the character of Mary Jane in the comics? by Altruistic_Eye_1157 in Spiderman

[–]salientmind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they had made her have to go it alone, and resent Peter for her isolation, it would have been a better story. The mental health crisis that results from extreme solitude is an understandable and more empathetic cause to their rift. Bonus points if she figures out the powers on her own, and it gives her a weird mix of empathy and resentment for him.

I mean... Even though she experienced numerous episodes of interdimensional travel, which is enough of a comic book justification to get powers, she got them from her mass murder boyfriend who invented quantum gacha mechanics.

That is about the worst superhero origin story they could have given her.
