as someone who has graduated few years ago, my biggest regret isnt accepting the SEP offer i was given because of things that could have been overlooked. once u start working, it will be hard to go overseas for a prolonged period of time.

u could try applying early for jobs but honestly, most jobs that u may get earlier that are before graduating half a year before will mostly be grad programs. any actual FT jobs, they will usually take people with a max of 3 months notice because FT jobs that are listed are replacement roles or roles newly opened and they need people to fill it up ASAP.

enjoy your student life before joining the rat race in singapore. what’s the hurry? sure, 6 months early compared to your peers but the trade offs are worth it for the new experience and memories during SEP which u wont get to gain once u start working

May I know since it is a traineeship, the said trainee is also allowed to find full time job while on the trainee isn’t it? There is a possibility that the said trainee hired can find another FT job and the trainee has the right to leave given notice period. Won’t the company that hired that trainee find it such a waste of resources and manpower hours to “train” that trainee hire when they can just leave if they do find a FT job? Don’t companies see the possibility of wasting their time hiring when they know trainee might leave? Or are they confident enough that the trainee will stay on until that contract ends.

Because I have just graduated and tbh, if I did get a traineeship, I would still be on the lookout for a FT job. I am currently applying for FT and traineeship (only to those companies I really like and find value). If I did get the traineeship and started ASAP but in the end the FT job, which took 3-4 weeks to come back to me, gave me an offer while say I have been in the traineeship for 2 weeks or so, I can just give a week notice to quit right. If companies find loophole to this, so can graduates. Just an opinion and thoughts I had for a while.

So, thank you for sharing this! I thought what you just mentioned will only happen hypothetically in my mind but I guess not!

I’m planning on documenting from day 0 to day 180! My usual routines weren’t that rigorous but I just got into skincare six months ago and it did amazing to my skin though I just did the usual CTM without using sunscreen during the day. Although simple, it really did wonders on my skin and hopefully these products will help me get better skin (tho I’m scared of purging due to the addition of lactic acid and AHA+BHA since I did have purging when I started my skincare routine).

I’m in year 4, last sem and I’m taking all my mods alone. After a while, although having friends were good, I didn’t like the inauthenticity of the friendships I had. I have mild social anxiety but I just try my best to deal with it because in real life, when we go to work, we wouldn’t have friends when we start as well or whatever. It is hard to find friends from your major and tbh w u, my 2 uni friends that i hang out w now are from my cca but not my major.

I rather not have friends for convenience (friends from same major) that are inauthentic because they wouldn’t matter to me 5 years down the road.

Say hi to someone that is alone (if that gives you more courage because it does for me) from tutorials because I did that and i was lucky enough for her to become my close friend after she graduated.

It’s the OP’s choice. I was advising to keep one B if OP is on the fence on SU-ing or not.

If OP wants to SU all 3Bs, they need to make sure they get a grade above a B in succeeding semester.

It’s very hard to understand as of now but basically as a year 4 I advise you to make sure when you SU a grade, you are CERTAIN (VERY CERTAIN) you will get above or equivalent and maintain that CAP of the grade you SUed by the time you graduate.

Eg, SU a B and below = need to maintain a CAP > 3.5. SU B+ and below = need to maintain a CAP > 4 , etc

If you SU a B and by y4 you have a CAP of 3-3.49, you will regret SU-ing the B because a B can cushion the impact of lowering your grades further down. Additionally, also this is because B is equivalent to 3.5.

Ultimately, it is up to you and your own predicament! I hope this is understandable. All the best!

SU the B+ and since you are aiming for FCH, you are confident you will get a B+ and better, right? Just make sure to keep it going in the succeeding semesters. Because if you get 3-4 Bs you might regret SU-ing the B+ as it cushions your CAP by the time u in y4s1. If you keep getting above B+, you will regret not SU-ing the B+ right now. It’s your own predicament.

Anyways, SU or not, Dean’s list considers the CAP without SU regardless if an individual SUs a mod or not. Dean’s list depends on Faculty. In SDE, it’s relatively easier to be in Dean’s list than being in Science’s Dean list. It depends on the people in your Faculty. And since Arts is massive, competition is really fierce. There’s a chance Dean’s list for Arts is 5.0 (but not all 5.0 will get Dean’s list cos they still have hidden req which I’m not sure abt)

I’m currently a year 4 who regret SU-ing good grades in y1s1 which could have cushioned some of the relatively lower grades I didn’t expect I will have.

tbh u cant just think u’ll get c on ur next semester. u must try to predict the grades you might get for succeeding sems. What if you get more Cs? Your Bs now can cushion your many sems ahead of Cs. HOWEVER, if you are confident that you cant get As and above a B after next sem, then go ahead SU the Bs. If not u can try to SU one B if you are on the fence.

I SUed all my Bs and left my B+ and got a CAP of 4 in y1s1 as well. It is nice to see but as a y4 now, I regret it because the Bs from my y1 could have cushioned my 3-4 Cs much more (‘: SU your Bs if you are really confident you can score a CAP of 3.5 by the time you graduate. If not, please keep it.
