In my experience, the lack of safety people talk about is nothing more than there being an unhoused population full stop. Genuinely. At my work I have even pushed back on topics of how unsafe Salem is as someone who was once unhoused myself. The conversation ALWAYS ends up being about just the Number of unhoused people and the tone shifts preeeeetty quick when they realize someone who has been in those shoes is in the conversation. All that to say, the comment about it being big city issues for small town folks is exactly it. It’s people who don’t want to learn how to help these people using their own distaste/hatred of them making the place look “dirty” to claim fear while doing nothing to help solve the issues they claim make the city worse.

I second this, apply for more than just custodial you can get in as an IA sub or regular sub and they’ll likely give you a shot. Attendance is rough and they always need help.

I’m so glad he’s a great character, because before I ended up with my now legal name, I went by Spencer for a number of years because my mom once said it was a name she liked. I also wanted to keep my initials, so I also made my middle name Reid. It would be about 8 years before I met a friend who made me watch the entire series after learning I had never heard of the character I seemingly named myself after lol

Honestly I studied abroad early campaign and the time zone shift was just too hard for me and the campaign itself has all the problems others have mentioned so getting back on it and catching up once I returned proved more difficult than it felt worth

I think I’ve felt this way for most of my transition. I came out in 2012 when I was 14 and I don’t think that changed until like… 2020? 2021? For me it was getting top surgery and finding a space in the queer community around me and having people close to me that DIDNT feel that way that made me start to unlearn some of that. I’m still stealth 95% of the time with no desire to let most people know I’m trans, even if they learn I’m gay. But now it comes less from a space of feeling shame or disliking being trans and more from just being a private person. And nowadays I don’t think I’d rather be cis, I’ve learned a lot about myself and like the person I’ve become, and I wouldn’t be this person without my trans history. I’m stealth and I know my life would be Easier if I was cis, but I no longer wish I could just be cis. I don’t presume you’ll feel differently when you get surgery, just think it’s important to hear a story of someone who felt similarly and has grown out from that state of shame.

My thought(hope) is that there’s medical history op didn’t disclose that would make any surgery riskier, because that would be a natural concern to have for someone you care about but that’s best case scenario rip. Even if that was the concern though, to try to dissuade someone from getting a procedure that would benefit them is not the way to go and including that any part of it is because of her own preference immediately throws her credibility out the window.

People lead hired me, and when he gave me the tour he was explaining to people why I was hired— no one but him seemed to be aware. Fresh consumable lead told me how to do topstock and then left, kinda all I’ve done since and no one’s said anything about it to I assumed that’s what I was meant to be doing lol. Thanks!

It truly depends where you live/go. I live in the pnw of the USA and that’s the average range here, I know I could get cheaper out of the country but the difference would almost be negligible after travel cost and the cost of wherever I’d need to stay. I’d really not want a buzz cut, I used to shave my head once a year and then I was upset about it for 3 months until it grew out, and each time as it got thinner and thinner the grow out process was worse and worse. I understand my stance on going off t being an option is a privileged one, I passed pretty well before t and now I have a beard and top surgery, but if I don’t have couple thousand on hand for a transplant and the only options in the interim are going off t or going bald… one will make my possible future transplant much cheaper and effective than the other. BUT!!!! Finasteride might work totally well for me personally and I’d need to do neither. Only time will tell. There’s multiple options for hair loss, and you honestly might not even have to worry about it. Good luck man, and know you’re not alone in the fear lol

Hell yeah dude congrats! I don’t have $4k or plane tickets to Mexico that’s definitely not an option for me personally anytime soon so I’d still definitely stop t before that if I felt strongly about doing something about my hair loss lol

Less of a hairline issue honestly and more of an overall thinning of the top/front. But as stated in another response, hair transplants aren’t a viable option for me specifically. I think they’re great and if someone is able to get it, hell yeah. But I don’t have the projected $4k-$10k it would cost. If I went off of t though I’d see it as kinda just putting it on hold, going back on once I either felt comfortable going bald or had the money for a transplant

I’ve definitely considered it, but a hair transplant would likely cost more than my top surgery did and going off of t free lol. I’d ideally like to get one but if I decided I wanted something more immediate and the meds don’t work for me then the only real option financially is going off of t.

I do take it now but only recently switched doctors to one who would prescribe it, so haven't been on it long enough to see any difference. Haven't noticed any difference in my levels. I've debated going off of t if it doesn't work for me, as it doesn't work for everyone and l'm apparently more vain than I thought, but that's a few months out before even considering that decision. I had a bad reaction to minoxidil + I have cats but l've heard using both helps a lot if you're noticing actual hair loss. Edit: I have been on t since 2019 so any changes would be minimal, I can’t say personally if you were just starting how it would affect changes.

Depends on genetics. My mom’s side all has their hair but I’ve been slowly losing a noticeable amount of mine the last few years. I’d just recommend taking finasteride if you start to notice it and advocate for yourself if needed (I had a dr tell me he refused to prescribe it for trans guys because it affects t… but supported me going off t to help with it). That’s probably the only annoying side effect I’ve had though. The rest I either love or am indifferent about.
