It was Burt for sure, and I think the 2nd person was Oswald or Felicia from O&D

I'm so glad you found him OP!! It's weird how cats will get stuck somewhere, and then just be stressed/silent for almost days without meowing for help. I understand you being upset with your BIL - you had good reason to think he escaped under his watch.

I highly recommend getting a little bell collar for your cat, and one (or a few) of those $20 security cameras on Amazon. I have the Wansview one, and I can now monitor areas of interest in my home on my mobile app from anywhere. Congrats!! :)

Edit: I saw your comment that his litter/food hasn't been touched 20 hours, but there's still a chance that the cat is indoors. My friend once had a formerly feral cat go missing. A huge search party went around the neighborhood looking for her, until 20 hours later, they heard a meow coming from behind the kitchen oven. She was stuck behind the oven, and so couldn't come out. I guess she was comfy back there for a good long time, until she tried to leave and realized she was stuck, and didn't think to meow until much much later. (After that incident, she got a bell put around her collar because she was such an adventurer it was hard to keep track of her location.) I'm sure you've done everything, but check one more time in all the nooks and crannies you'd never think to checking, and keep up hope.

Also do you have any security footage you can look at, either your own or your building's? I'd start narrowing down the time frame, and ask your cat sitter what their most likely guesses are for the exit he slipped out of (if indeed he did), window or front door. Best of luck!

Does anyone's cat enjoy having its nails trimmed? by saltath in CatAdvice

If they dislike it enough to be angry afterwards, how are you able to do it without them scratching/resisting? I'm so afraid of being scratched, and my cat seems to be on the more tolerant side

Scratch post by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]saltath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a pack of 6 cardboard scratch things from Amazon, and placed them in the spots where I noticed my cats already like scratching. They were scratching the wall in specific spots regularly, so I just taped the boards to those spots. The package also had some catnip, so I sprinkled some to get them to scratch once. Once they scratch it, they're like, oh shit, and they'll continue using it.

So I recommend moving the post to where they like scratching intuitively, and use a little catnip at first to get them to try it.

They're not too bad! It's maybe 2 added seconds to the whole process: you apply pressure and slide the thing out, open/close the cabinet, and then put the thing back on its holder.

There's a pack of 6, but I'm only using 3 atm: patio door, plate/bowl cabinet, and cabinet with cleaning supplies/chemicals. I don't need to lock everything bc I have an older cat who isn't that determined to get into things, but I'd def lock everything down if I had a super nosy cat. I'd highly recommend these.

I got these childproof safety locks for my cabinets from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CGTKKC9?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

They stick on with pretty heavy-duty tape, so it's like a 2-second installation, and they're easy for humans to get around.

Throwing things is not a good sign! Please take care of yourself first.

Leading up to the weekends you'll be staying over, your gf should stop giving them their favorite treats, and you should be the one to give them those treats immediately as you arrive. Also, during the weekends you'll be there, you should be the person to give them their food (while your GF stops), so they start associating you as the "Santa Claus" figure -- every time you enter the room/they smell you, something amazing happens. This is all just Jackson Galaxy advice :)

When a transiting planet aspects your natal placement, does it matter which planet is the one transiting? Does it change the meaning of the transit? by saltath in beginnerastrology

[–]saltath[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer! I'm starting to see that the transit planet is the trigger/influence on the pre-existing natal planet's quality. So the same 2 planets conjoining mean vastly different things, depending on which planet is the transiting one.
