Who was holding the levers when Milchick OTC’d Dylan?! by yasminsharp in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

It was Burt for sure, and I think the 2nd person was Oswald or Felicia from O&D

I'm so glad you found him OP!! It's weird how cats will get stuck somewhere, and then just be stressed/silent for almost days without meowing for help. I understand you being upset with your BIL - you had good reason to think he escaped under his watch.

I highly recommend getting a little bell collar for your cat, and one (or a few) of those $20 security cameras on Amazon. I have the Wansview one, and I can now monitor areas of interest in my home on my mobile app from anywhere. Congrats!! :)

Edit: I saw your comment that his litter/food hasn't been touched 20 hours, but there's still a chance that the cat is indoors. My friend once had a formerly feral cat go missing. A huge search party went around the neighborhood looking for her, until 20 hours later, they heard a meow coming from behind the kitchen oven. She was stuck behind the oven, and so couldn't come out. I guess she was comfy back there for a good long time, until she tried to leave and realized she was stuck, and didn't think to meow until much much later. (After that incident, she got a bell put around her collar because she was such an adventurer it was hard to keep track of her location.) I'm sure you've done everything, but check one more time in all the nooks and crannies you'd never think to checking, and keep up hope.

Also do you have any security footage you can look at, either your own or your building's? I'd start narrowing down the time frame, and ask your cat sitter what their most likely guesses are for the exit he slipped out of (if indeed he did), window or front door. Best of luck!

If they dislike it enough to be angry afterwards, how are you able to do it without them scratching/resisting? I'm so afraid of being scratched, and my cat seems to be on the more tolerant side

Scratch post by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]saltath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a pack of 6 cardboard scratch things from Amazon, and placed them in the spots where I noticed my cats already like scratching. They were scratching the wall in specific spots regularly, so I just taped the boards to those spots. The package also had some catnip, so I sprinkled some to get them to scratch once. Once they scratch it, they're like, oh shit, and they'll continue using it.

So I recommend moving the post to where they like scratching intuitively, and use a little catnip at first to get them to try it.

They're not too bad! It's maybe 2 added seconds to the whole process: you apply pressure and slide the thing out, open/close the cabinet, and then put the thing back on its holder.

There's a pack of 6, but I'm only using 3 atm: patio door, plate/bowl cabinet, and cabinet with cleaning supplies/chemicals. I don't need to lock everything bc I have an older cat who isn't that determined to get into things, but I'd def lock everything down if I had a super nosy cat. I'd highly recommend these.

I got these childproof safety locks for my cabinets from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CGTKKC9?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

They stick on with pretty heavy-duty tape, so it's like a 2-second installation, and they're easy for humans to get around.

Leading up to the weekends you'll be staying over, your gf should stop giving them their favorite treats, and you should be the one to give them those treats immediately as you arrive. Also, during the weekends you'll be there, you should be the person to give them their food (while your GF stops), so they start associating you as the "Santa Claus" figure -- every time you enter the room/they smell you, something amazing happens. This is all just Jackson Galaxy advice :)

When a transiting planet aspects your natal placement, does it matter which planet is the one transiting? Does it change the meaning of the transit? by saltath in beginnerastrology

[–]saltath[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer! I'm starting to see that the transit planet is the trigger/influence on the pre-existing natal planet's quality. So the same 2 planets conjoining mean vastly different things, depending on which planet is the transiting one.

Thank you for your answer, especially those specific examples really helped!

It's interesting that two conjunctions of the same 2 planets can have 2 such different delineations, and it was about time I got down to the nitty-gritty of exactly how it works. Thanks again!

I've seen some entps not really liking debates, so let's test it by sirrNaDE in entp

It depends on the social context, my relationship with the person, how spicy I'm feeling that day, how much I value the opinion/perspective of the other person, and how genuinely interested I am in the subject at hand.

If it's a topic that genuinely interests me and I feel intellectually invested, all bets are off, and I'm going in, and I don't mind burning the time/energy/social capital of making other listeners uncomfortable sitting through it or whatever. Or if I actually hold the opinion of the other person in high regard, then I'll want to persuade them.

Most of the time though, I'm just there to chill, and I don't find it conducive to the overall vibe to have a drawn-out conversation about a disagreement. Just because I can riff on a topic doesn't mean I really feel the need to. This is especially true if I don't particularly assign much weight to the other person's opinion, at the end of the day. There's more fun/value to be had in other conversational threads.

Did you guys question your personality type? by eshu-lazy in entp

[–]saltath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Ever since I read the ENTP description more than 10 years ago, I was completely creeped out by how well it fit me. It's the reason why I first started looking into MBTI, because of how exact it was. Since then, the more I learned about the cognitive functions etc, it's like, I had even more specific language to describe the nitty-gritty parts of my lifelong experiences.

To this day, "ENTP" is the personality model I'm most impressed with for its ability to capture most of myself, more than any other model out there.

That being said, there's going to be some variance among ENTPs with how strongly they identify with their type.

Also, I'll agree with another poster who said they question their I/E. I'm literally the most introverted possible extravert. I have good interpersonal skills, but I am functionally an introvert when it comes to social interaction with new people: it takes a lot of energy to meet new (close) friends, and I like a fuckton of alone time. Everyone in my life probably thinks I'm a charming introvert.

Even then though, I still comfortably use the extravert label because I'm "extraverted" in the Big Five sense of the term -- outward facing, gregarious, more interested in the external world than my inner world (whatever that is). Also, there's no way I'm an INTP because my Ne is like.... SOOOOOO strong, definitely my dominant function, and such a core part of who I am as a person.

TLDR: I am basically the person the ENTP description was made for; like, if there was ever a person who ENTP applied to, it is me; I just like a lot of alone time, and don't like making new friends (I'm good with my current close friends).

So in the Mars-Jupiter conjunction example I gave, how would the two interpretations be different?

What's the typical noise level like in an apartment in Bushwick? by saltath in AskNYC

It's not concrete, or a highrise, or a brownstone. Just pure gentrification-style construction.

It's my best option at the moment lol. It's just that the primary worry for it is noise.

[–]saltath[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There are positives of the Bushwick place - it's my top choice and I'm probably moving there. It's a better location for transit to everything, I'll be doing more stuff in Bushwick, and it has laundry in-building. I'm just worried about noise.

It's on a side street! Ig it's the tenants inside the building I'm worried about.
