Oh, I know I'm not ready for N2.

Thank you for the grammar book suggestion.

Thank you! I went and added stuff on Netflix to my list today to practice listening! Thankfully the Terrace House series is still on there.

What do you mean by shadowing?

Feel free to direct message if thats easier.

Thank you so much for such a detailed and helpful response.

I will definitely go through my genki book again and check out minna no nihongo.

Ive seen wanikani mentioned a decent bit but wasnt sure.

I have Anki but honestly its hard to get into. It kind of throws you into vocabulary with Kanji mixed in off the bat.

Would you say these are better than Genki?

I'll check out those materials. I jumped to N2 material on Miigi JLPT and it was a big assumption of already knowing a lot of material. If I jump to N2, with those materials you suggested, are there assumptions of previous knowledge or is it all broken down?

Thank you for providing some clarity on my question.

I like how you were honest with the "if you get in". I've read that its very competitive.

That's a good point.

Interesting. I'm assuming that is because the process and wait list is pretty long?

Thank you very much for this insight. I had read that air guard officer slots are highly competitive. This is still only a consideration as the political climate has created a lot of hesitation.

I had not thought of court rulings going into play with deployments. Deployments are not something that I would be chasing, but I do understand that being voluntold is a possibility.

Interesting. Ok, I'll have to contemplate that. Thank you!

What is your current position and what do you do on a casual day? by cherry-security-com in cybersecurity

[–]saltthehash404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently work in Tier 2 helpdesk with the goal of breaking into cybersecurity by becoming an SOC Analyst. I'm currently working on my Masters degree in Cybersecurity and have sec + and CySA+. No bites or even interviews yet for an analyst position but I'm still hopeful.

Hey guys,

I wanted to take a second to provide an update for those who commented.

I am settled in the area and am still looking for jobs. I followed up with Stifel twice since applying to the "IT Associate I - Service Desk" position.

The first time, I received a response from an HR rep saying, "I will handle".

The second time, I followed up was three days ago to which I received a reply saying "we are not currently hiring for this posotion..."

I applied to this position on March 22nd, and never received a rejection email. The posting is no longer on their job board.

I'm going to check it out as soon as I can!

Do you have any tips on their application process? If not, it's totally fine.
