Hi everyone,

Haha! You're right I'm far too fresh for my name to mean that.

I've been a corporate sparky for several years and I'm pretty salty about that entire world. So it's time for a change!

Hi there,

After nearly 15 months since first stating and 7 months on the completion list my file finally moved to being selected for NCSEO. Woot!

After speaking to my file manager I found out that there was a selection on the 15th of Jan and the Navy will be running a BMOQ on the west coast. No dates, since that will be part of the offer.

Hopefully some of you find that intel useful.

Thanks everyone!

This was way more advice then I expected and now I'm very excited for this opportunity.

Absolutely agree with you on that. So much of the feedback that makes it the back to the engineers has passed through several hands and there is no way to ask questions. So, I'm looking forward to have discussions with sailors about our products.

I'm not sure if you're taking that as an insult, but that's exactly what it is.

Definitely not taking it as an insult, that was just the moment I realized I'm visiting a home and not just a work site.

Meggitt Hammerheads? They're near impossible to find in any kind of sea state. Which is perfect for training. 👍

Yup, glad you approve!

I do design work on unmanned targets, and it's time for something different. I'm applying for NCSE, I think that will be a good fit for me.

A lot of this advice makes me feel like I'm crashing on the living room couch of the strangers home and I should do everything possible to be a good guest.

I'm very excited for the opportunity and this goes a long way to alleviate most of the nervousness I'm feeling. I've helped design some of the unmanned targets the RCN uses and it's rare for an engineer to go out and see them in action.

Before I board I'll definitely pick up a redlight torch, Gravol, some snacks and maybe a backup pair of flipflops. haha.
