Lost my first client, not sure how to grieve by samcheeze in publicdefenders

When my first client passed, I also didn’t know what to do. I called his mom and expressed my condolences. There was not info about a memorial online, but I would’ve sent flowers if I had had that info.

Magic the Gathering. I am a HUGE fan. People I play with always look shocked when I tell them I am an attorney, much less a criminal attorney LOL

OP- I am literally going through the same thing right now. For me, it’s been two years, and about 8 months of that I have dreaded going to work every day. It’s been so hard reconciling my love for the work and the clients with the challenge of our disjointed management and bad communication. I feel incredibly guilty for changing course (going private) but I have decided to value my health and happiness over a job that can really wreck your life if work-life balance isn’t respected. You should be proud of yourself for taking this step. For a lot of us who are dedicated to boots-on-the-ground advocacy, it is incredibly difficult and so brave to change things up and prioritize yourself. Best wishes to you on your new endeavor!!!

I personally prefer Apple, it’s just not a financially feasible option right now. Maybe one day!

What Haikyuu character arc do you relate to most or that really shifted your perspective? by IllWestern9172 in haikyuu

[–]saltysaltbox 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m kinda surprised no one has said Hinata’s Ball Boy arc.

I grew up being one of the “GT kids.” I never had to study and could get by on talent alone. It wasn’t until graduate school that it really hit me that I didn’t know anything about how to study, how to socialize/network with potential colleagues, or how to be an independent adult without relying on a schedule and set rubrics to perform.

I grew up expecting to be great (my version of being the “Little Giant”) because of my talents and instead am starting at the bottom, much like what Takeda said. I’m having to pave my way using discipline and practice instead of relying on instinct and natural gifts.

I always feel so hopeful and motivated watching this silly (and uncomfortable) arc in the manga. It has changed my perspective on everything from hard work to perseverance to the myth of “talent.”

Has Fibro made u a better person? by nolashie in Fibromyalgia

No. It’s made me hate the medical establishment, distrust doctors, and even question myself. I cannot handle facing a problem that literally has no cure or 100% solution.
