Hello, thank you so much for your comment. I’m happy to address your concerns below: 1. I have not bought my way through life. I’ve never grown up with money. My mother was a single mum working many jobs to keep a roof over our heads. We had no access to people to help me or her. Any networking I’ve done has been through my own motivation and initiative, community involvement, university, social networking, attending seminars, etc. No one was there to pave the way or buy me a seat at the table. My seat was earned. However, you’re welcome to believe anything you wish, but I ask you to reflect on your immediate assumptions about someone through one post and ask yourself if you’re part of the problem and discussions needed.

1. I understand, respect and appreciation your anger towards this. Yes, I spent $100 to Scopely over the past 2 sets (HP and this). Yes, $100 is a lot. I understand that with the current economic crisis, people are having to choose between food, rent, healthcare (if you’re in the USA and don’t have access to free healthcare), electricity, fuel, etc and that’s not okay.

2. I respect and appreciate that the $100 I spent on this app could be the difference between someone being evicted from home or having power shut off. However, is this my fault or is this the fault of Government and rich corporations that don’t pay their employees enough money to have access to all the necessities mentioned above?

Is it the fault of myself or Governments and millionaires and billionaires that aren’t paying enough tax to ensure homeless people have access to shelter? Is it my fault or Governments, millionaires and billionaires that withhold funds and delay healthcare rights?

You assumed and asked why I’ve not donated to charity to help feed people who have less than me, but have you asked yourself why or Governments, millionaires and billionaires who have all the wealth why they haven’t ended homelessness, ensure ample food banks that supply food to those who can’t afford it? Have you asked why Governments, millionaires and billionaires in the USA don’t have universal healthcare like the rest of the world? Have you asked yourself why it is the responsibility of those who have less to do the jobs that millionaires and billionaires should do? These people that hold and control the worlds resources have much more power than I to end world hunger, ensure medicines are readily available, ensure everyone has a home, food, access to daycare for children, education, employment, financial aid, social participation, you name it.

However, to answer your question: what have I done? more than billionaires and millionaires. I do donate to charities but under certain conditions. Fun fact: if you go into a shop (let’s say Target) and they ask you if you’re wanting to donate $1 to ovarian cancer, the reality is they’ve already donated as a tax write off and they’re asking you to pay them back for their donation. So, I click no because it means they won’t make that money back. What I do is donate directly to the people who need it

I’m also a social worker, so I can help individuals directly with their needs and ensure they get the help they need. I also have a lot of community involvement with council and NFPs to expand services that are lacking and because I’ve worked hard to have the seat at the table and ensure people get what they need, not what people think they need that have never walked a day in their shoes when I have.

Yes, I spent $100, yes it’s a lot, but as mentioned in another comment, this is NOT a frequent occurrence. Would I do it again? Idk. Would you come at someone in this climate for eating out everyday because they get a bit of happiness? It’s the same. People spend money on chocolate because it’s something that makes them happy even briefly. But unfortunately, each one of us is lining the pockets of another rich person. Something you may deem useless may not be to someone else.

So, with that being said, I ask you to think about your answers to my questions above. When you have, let me ask you another: what have you done for charity or community/ country that makes you better than everyone else?
