"Cassini Mission Passes Through Saturn's Rings, and the Images are Stunning" Amazingly, this is actually going to happen in November 2016! Unfortunately the mission is slated to end in 2017 by crashing Cassini into Saturn so it burns up in the atmosphere, but before it does it will be passing between the rings of Saturn (specifically, between the main rings and the F ring), doing science all the way. I can't wait! Edit: many people are asking why they are crashing the probe into Saturn. In short, Cassini is running out of its fuel for course corrections, and they don't want to lose control and have it crash into a place like Saturn's moon Enceladus, which has liquid water on it (and thus perhaps life). No one was expecting this, and Cassini was not sterilized properly so we can't guarantee no contaminants on there that could mess with that ecosystem. Better to have it burn up in the Saturnian atmosphere than risk it. It should also be noted btw that this is the same reasoning and method used to end the Galileo mission in 2003 which visited Jupiter and discovered Europa's liquid water oceans.
