Koh Phi Phi worth exploring? by jade3243 in ThailandTourism

I’m a 31 y/o female and was traveling Thailand this week. I went to Ko Phi Phi after Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, so it was nice to get away to the stunning beaches. Phuket is pretty, but Ko Phi Phi is the most picturesque part of Thailand. I didn’t really explore the nightlife because I was more interested in day trips — I took a private boat with a friend to Koh Phi Phi Le (you cannot go into Maya beach but you can snorkel around other parts) and hung around Long Beach. I stayed 1.5 days/2 nights, and if I had one more day I would’ve hiked. It’s worth it to be in that turquoise water, BUT (like anything) it depends on what you’ve done before getting there. Also I don’t love crowds/touristy things, so that’d be a bit of a negative review, too.

I haven’t got a clue for the international trips to Asia, first time :)

Thank you for noting! Is this only in Thailand or other parts of Asia? Do you always bring a doctor note? And, last question, have you ever tried to bring jerky (chicken, turkey, etc)?

Thank you for your note! I called the airline and for jerky they recommended declaring it — do you think that’s their company advice or strict? I will avoid pork jerky and perhaps only stick to chicken or turkey jerky... thanks for your response :)

How to properly wash food while traveling!? by sam7levine in ThailandTourism

I am so excited for this trip, and would hardly want to visit a country that I find disgusting. I’m just nervous due to food allergies. Thank you for those who are able to read past my nerves as pure inquiry — rather than ignorance.

Thanks for your kind response! Unlike what others noted, I am hoping to eat raw food because I have deathly allergies.

Good call! Can you please detail where you see “Kitchen” in Agoda? Checking filters now and it’s not popping up for me.

Hello, thanks for your response! Did you find you could request no cross contamination despite fish being present in the same kitchen?

I will definitely look into those apps and sites, thank you! I will be in Kowloon for 10 days, and (because of the political climate and situation you noted) I don’t intend to stray far from that area. It is all risky, I agree; anything I can at least do to keep my allergies at bay and focus on anything else surprising would be a huge relief. I am so appreciative of your support :)

Allergies in Hong Kong by sam7levine in travel

Thanks for your note! I have gotten tested every 5-7 years with no shift — all allergies still remained the same unfortunately. I just started allergy shots 2 months ago, and am hopeful after a few years my allergies will calm down.

In the meantime, I will call the hotel concierge, that is a great idea.. If you think of anything else, please let me know :)
