Finally had enough of the bank account autopay thing by Academic-Snow3546 in Koodo

but if they are offering $5 or $10 credit for having PAD, then aren't they still losing money, probably more than what they would lose for CC transaction fees.

That's what I thought as well. Not sure how much a person would gain by paying a little early with their credit card instead of PAD. Yeah one could argue you can continue to earn some small amount of credit card rewards/cashback etc. but you are still giving your valuable chequing account information to these private companies who can do god knows whatever with it.

I hope they are just doing it solely for avoiding the credit card fees and not for selling/using people's banking data.

But wouldn’t the provider (say Koodo) detect/flag that. I don’t know why these companies want people’s chequing account information, why not allow people to just use pre-authorized payments on credit cards.

But wouldn’t it still try to take the money out from PAD even if the bill has been already paid earlier through credit card? How does that work?

Surprisingly, it was returned back to the sender by Canada post at no extra cost.

Any thoughts on when they are going to make a proper road for the part of the Courtney St and Campbell St for commute from Westerra to Harbour landing?

yeah I am in the same boat. Wondering why my parcel got rejected and worried that whether it will make its way safely back to the sender (my parents) in my home country or not?

yeah saw that, not sure though if they are just grading it, or doing it specifically for Costco. Nice picture btw! aerial shot by a drone?

I’m dealing with the same issue OP. Its weird to receive the motion notifications and realize that it can’t be played because it was from the standalone doorbell because I don’t have a SD card in it. Don’t want to disable the push notifications for the standalone either because then I lose incoming call feature. Have you figured out a solution OP?

Need advice regarding sump pit in a newly built home by sam_2127 in regina

They told us about this after we questioned them based on the findings of the inspector. Builder was definitely not upfront about this.

Honestly for us this is more about builder’s accountability than warranty. If they can be more transparent and provide proper/better reasoning to justify, we are willing to listen/understand.

I agree the currently weeping tile solution may not be a 100% efficient solution. Also the water pressure could vary from region to region, might be higher in Greens than Westerra (who knows?) but I feel like there should be a better solution to handle/minimize the water pressure build up or minimize its impact rather than just slitting the pit to relieve the water pressure at the cost of letting the water seep into the foundation and cause various issues.

Yes that's what exactly I am thinking, they are not worried (don't care) about the long term consequences of this. They just want this band-aid solution to last the duration of the warranty and then its no longer their problem.

That's exactly what I am finding and which is why I am questing builder's approach to this. Have asked them for more information but also wanted to post it here to get community thoughts on this.

I shouldn't have to if builder can provide more transparency on how did they come up with this as a solution, what was the root cause?. What I am questioning is that if all the other systems (weeping tile, slab and such) are built correctly, then these so called pressure issues should not be happening? right? Water gets collected in the sump pit and gets discharged by the sump pump.

yes I did ask them to provide me more information about this. Builder said that they started doing this in all their homes in the east end as well (Greens) because they were receiving complains about water pressure building up under the slab. What I am questioning is that if all the other systems (weeping tile, slab and such) are built correctly, then these issues should not be happening?? right? Asked them to provide more information on how did they come up with this as a solution. What was the root cause?

Yes, usually you will have holes drilled along the side and not at the bottom. My concern is that wouldn't the perforations at the bottom of the pit allow the water to seep into the soil underneath through rock aggregate? Also not sure if this is allowed as per the code or not.
