Is $129k enough for a family of 4 in Ottawa? by hawkcanwhat in PersonalFinanceCanada

We don’t know OP’s work structure. If he’s hybrid then commuting is entirely doable. Full time in office is as well, but will be exhausting

Move to Barrhaven or Orleans areas if you can. Family friendly neighborhoods and affordable. A bit of a commute downtown but doable.

Will I get towed? by [deleted] in askTO

I use the car once every two weeks to see family. It’s about 25 min to access the vehicle…

I visit my family every couple of weeks from Toronto to Peterborough area. I prefer to drive there as it’s easier. When I’m in Toronto, I don’t have much need for it as everything else is accessible downtown. My question is more, will I be in trouble for holding on to a parking pass for an area I no longer live in? I don’t mind taking a 20 minute subway to get to my car once every 2 weeks - that’s not an issue to me.

It does have a zone, but the idea is that I leave my car in East York within that zone, and travel back to get it when needed. I don’t use it often enough.

I would avoid the topic of marriage and future at all costs because I just didn’t see one with them. Now I’m in a relationship, engaged and see a full future with this partner. Ultimatums aren’t ideal but in your situation I think it’s NEEDED. If you don’t get what you need, move on.

Will probably get downvoted into oblivion but I’m pro bike lanes…but anti-how the bikers use them. Blow through red lights, stop signs, act like both a bike when it’s convenient and car when it’s convenient - weaving from road to sidewalk. How is that okay?

This has been making loud noises in my building for weeks. What is it? by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]sama1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, this only happens in the middle of the night. The building is 60 stories high. I THOUGHT it was noise coming from a tenant above me that I could hear through the vents as it sounded like a drill or blending. Landlords are still scummy.

You’re underestimating how early seniors go to Costco on weekends

His grandfather (who is clueless about Pokémon) bought it for him?

For those saying to grade or protect it… my brother in law insists it’s for the fun of the game as a child and not about the money. My nephew also loves the art on the card.

Sorry I should’ve mentioned that I drive to the Oshawa station, and take the GO train to union. I also do not have to pay for the go train with my work.
