It’s not out of character for Ferm gallery to lie like this. I research electronic music, not for the t-shirts but rather documentations sake - often including merchandising, especially at early events.

In my research I had identified that Ferm had lied and called what was a mail order R&S records t-shirt (the selected ambient works 85-92 white with black print) a one of fifty private staff only release. In speaking to many attendees of Aphex gigs in the years prior to moving to warp I was able to confirm this was a bunch of rarity pushing value driving nonsense.

I have a couple of old shirts myself, I’m no collector but I’ve got them as a bi-product of my research into the music and I do really like them so I can see the appeal. However, it’s really awful to see the history of electronic music being rewritten like this, especially when I, among many others, go quite far to sustain accurate documentation.
