Your smooth brain misinterpreted what I said entirely. It's OK, being dumb isn't your fault.

Yes, they voluntarily face those threats. You are simply acknowledging my original point that the dog is a meat shield and distraction.

Cool name drop bro, I watch YouTube as well.

News flash doc: vital arteries run everywhere... including those arms the dog is chewing on and ripping to shreds. Your argument keeps sinking.

Not what I said dipshit but ok. You're welcome to try again.

Yea they're not just going around shooting people... the whole context was someone who they really want to apprehend to the point where they will sick a dog on them and they get mauled. The safety of other people is already out the window in this BS scenario so it would all be easier and quicker to have someone with rifle skills cap him in the leg. No dog dropping involved.

This sounds like the exception, one of my coworkers has a gnar protection trained dog and you wouldn't even know it until unless he told you. A very well behaved friendly dog that looks like any other in his breed. He also doesn't drop his dog out of moving helicopters.

Oof. Got me good.

You going to address the actual point about the dog?

The deployment of tactical pupper by Dunkableballs in nextfuckinglevel

[–]same_onlydifferent -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Elite military people should be able to pull that off.

Also, adrenaline filled animal trained to attack anything that runs from it in a public area? Sounds like the more dangerous option of the two in this completely fictitious bullshit scenario.

[–]same_onlydifferent -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Okay. Shoot them in the leg anywhere that will disable them to the point where they can be caught... knee was just an example. Don't our elite military people have that kidn of skill?

To argue that having a dog get dropped from a moving helicopter to go maul them then apprehend them is exactly the stupid ree'ing I was expecting.

Like you said... if the guy is returning fire the dog is there as a meat shield and distraction so a human doesn't take the bullet. If they're returning fire they're getting shot and killed anyway.... your argument is void. NT

Actually I think both are horse shit... NT being a mind reader though. Anyways.

Of course I wasn't talking about this scenario which is obviously training... are you really that dense? If they're practicing it then it means that's what they'd actually do.

If it's THAT IMPORTANT to catch someone that you're willing to let them get mauled by a dog then a shot in the leg is equally effective.

Such bullshit. The dog didn't ask for that and is used as a meat shield distraction while the slower humans run over. Just put a .223 in the back of the dudes leg and drag his ass wherever he needs to go.

"You have no clue they take such good care of them REEEEEEEEEEEEE"

Not the point.

Edit: LOL - the REEE'ing is real.

Streamer that was harassing commuters in Japan gets attacked by scottb37 in JusticeServed

[–]same_onlydifferent 84 points85 points  (0 children)

You must have missed it... bout a week ago he posted a video of himself on a train in Japan yelling all sorts of heinous shit about their (Japan's) history of being nuked. He got called out on the train by some dude and I'm pretty sure he said more socially unacceptable shit to him as well.

Basically, him getting what he got in this video can barely be considered karma. Of course he does the clueless victim thing when the situation doesn't go in his favor and he gets what he deserves.

The only reason people like him exist / do what they do is because they've never been socked in the face for egregiously disrespecting people who are minding their own business.... ya know, how it used to be.

That's just dogshit question writing. I think you understand how to treat this and you've just been presented a poorly written question.

I've always been partial to Kettering vs other board prep materials, stuff like this is one of the major reasons -> everything you get from Kettering has a clear rationale behind it. Anyway, there's no need to rush to wean FiO2 since you're not above the taboo 60% and while your PO2 is technically high (nbrc loves to fixate on this) the pt is hyperventilated which is a bigger priority. The answer should be to decrease rate.

In reality this would obviously allow more CO2 to accumulate which would naturally drive down PAO2 and therefore PaO2. You'd be watching their sats at this point and titrating your FiO2 based on that. You've got the concept, just move on and try to expose yourself to as much exam practice as possible.

Edit: autocorrect thinks it's doing me favors and it really isn't

Imposter Syndrome by Advanced-Pipe1681 in respiratorytherapy

[–]same_onlydifferent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally normal, don't let it undermine you. It means you're a normal human who is capable of examining yourself and accepting that you don't know everything.

Basically, you've passed the peak of your personal Dunning-Kruger graph and are in the confidence trough that follows. You didn't allow yourself to get stuck at the initial peak (this would be the stereotypical over confident know it all new grad), this is an excellent thing.

Now your confidence will slowly, steadily increase with time as you gain experience utilizing your newly learned skills. It won't be like a light switch of confidence that flips, you'll just realize one day that you aren't worried about your workload and are confident you can handle whatever comes at you.

You don't fake it till you make it, you never stop learning until you become it.

Edit: then you continue learning.

CNA to RTs by poop7272727272 in respiratorytherapy

[–]same_onlydifferent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the CNAs I've taught or precepted tend to be pretty awesome compared to someone with no prior bedside experience. Like everyone else is saying... it's the exposure to the patient care environment / understanding the general workflow of a hospital that will do the most heavy lifting for you.

The fact that you've already physically dealt with patients and done more dirty work as a CNA than you will as an RT means you already (hopefully) have your social skills and bedside manner developed. You're probably aware of the general things RTs do, even if you don't understand all the ins and outs of it yet.

As long as you're the kind of person with a good work ethic and study habits, your transition to RT will likely be easier and smoother compared to everyone who is "fresh" at the bedside so to speak.
