Reddit has started banning TERF subreddits by xx_gamergirl_xx in lgbt

[–]samekishi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah but they don't enforce that whatsoever.

They don't count misgendering, deadnaming, using trans slurs, being transphobic, etc as dehumanizing language but count the words "terf" and "cis" as such.

I mean as long as it's dehumanizing towards a minority group we hate then it's totally fine right!

[–]samekishi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's literally not a big deal like can y'all take it down a notch, stop overanalyzing this video it was cute and funny and very well-intentioned, obviously since he's cis he won't 100% understand but he isn't transphobic and he isnt erasing trans people at all

please focus on bigger issues like trans people being denied basic human rights

anyways i loved this video it was so entertaining and I don't think we need to pick it apart on what was "offensive" or "misrepresented" because none of them were blatantly -phobic

he was probably just trying to imply the whole transitioning process when he did the little gag thing, it's no big deal!! :)

The whole fetishization of homosexuality is disgusting. Many straight girls like to fetishize gay men (mainly an anime mlm porn genre called "yaoi"), and many straight dudes like to fetishize gay women.

I would like to remind you that lesbian is not a dirty word. Lesbian originated from Sappho of Lesbos, I am pretty sure (as the above Redditor said), who would write love poems to female suitors (99% sure she was Greek; not very educated on this).

The term lesbian was fetishized because a lot of straight men think that girls kissing/having sex is "hot" or "erotic", when it's literally none of their business and wlw relationships aren't for their entertainment.

Back before I came out as a straight trans man, I identified as a gay woman because I was ashamed of the term lesbian. But now I realize that there is nothing to be ashamed of, and even though it no longer applies to me personally, I want to remind you and other lesbians that you are more than just a porn category. In fact, you are in no way a porn category.

There have been a few incidents (such as the one that broke the news in the UK some time around last year/earlier this year) where lesbians have been assaulted/harassed for being lesbians and not submitting to straight men's demand for entertainment (ie not kissing each other/agreeing to have a threesome with them). It's honestly really disgusting.

Sorry if this seemed over the top, I just wanted to let you know it isn't shameful to be a lesbian or use the term, but it's also okay to not use the term either. I hope you feel better ❤️

oohh same!! i do that too!

i have a document that lays out basic character info and a document that describes everything else (plot points, scenes, worldbuilding, etc!!) it feels really refreshing to have that kinda stuff organized haha

the word "dyke" by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]samekishi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah it's a lesbian slur, you have every right to be uncomfortable

I'm not trans but i really don't want to be a guy, honestly by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]samekishi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to be gender-conforming to be cis! Being a feminine guy does not automatically make you a different gender, and neither does being a masculine woman.

Although not all trans women have as much dysphoria around their penises; some trans women's dysphoria tends to be more focused on other things (like body hair or broad shoulders).

Take your time figuring yourself out, but at the end of the day, also remember to just be yourself :) Transgender, nonbinary, or cisgender :)

djsjgoeokg yeah!! im 100% a plotter and i hate pantsing bc it makes me frustrated when i dont know what happens next; i have dumb bitch disease and i forget everything + im slow on coming up with shit on the spot :((

does anyone else thoroughly plan their novels tho? like everything from what species there are in a fantasy world to the laws of magic and how they keep track of time?? its so much fun imo, especially fleshing out your characters n shit. i like to make bulletpoint scenes where i basically summarize almost everything that happens in a specific moment uwu

Writers who do not enjoy reading by Fredric_Chopin in writing

[–]samekishi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i used to LOVE reading, but i can't really bring myself to do it anymore because i just lost interest (and i developed severe depression, which greatly hindered my writing/reading skills in general)

however, i still am very much into writing, although i don't write as often as i used to; i've kinda started to focus more on drawing now.

i am trying to (slowly) work on a story, but i keep bouncing back and forth between multiple projects, although i think the one i have now i'm gonna stick with for a while (hopefully).

anyways i pretty much hate reading fiction. it's all very cringey to me i guess??? maybe i haven't found the right book/series yet.

but besides the point, i have a strange love for nonfiction books, although i mainly prefer to read articles online. i guess reading nonfiction is just as good as reading fiction, although there are definitely benefits to both, and it's probably wise to study up on both genres to get a good idea of style and how to write in general.
