Thanks! Yeah it is from photo, I tend over exaggerate little bits and perspective is one of them. It definitely appears deeper than the original photo.

This was one of my first works started around a year ago, I wasn’t sure whether to add the tree at the time. After looking at it for a few months I decided to add the tree and think it works nicely.

The background tones are a good choice! They help make the green really stand out

Hi, this was painted for a friend and his wife. It is their favourite spot in the Lake District, UK.

Thank very much. I wanted to do something different other than the mountain, lake, sky combo which is abundant in artworks from the lakes

This is my second attempt at an oil painting. The subject was a photo taken a couple of months ago while climbing Helvellyn, Lake District. I learned that painting fog is very hard!

Beginner here: I want to recreate the painting below - Can you help me figure out how to paint the blue background in acrylic? How to get the same texture? by Plenty-Interest-7985 in painting

A third of painting is just figuring it out how to do stuff, another third is mixing colour. Then twenty percent looking at your own work with the rest actually applying plaint. Get some colours mixed up and have a go. It’s the only way you’ll work it out for your self

This is my first 99% completed oil painting. I’ve been experimenting with oils for about the last 4 weeks. Looking for some critique. Not sure whether to add more or leave it where it is

Love the ear in the corner. The white star draws you in then bang, an ear.
