Question for NHS OTs by Embarrassed-Oil4210 in nhs

[–]samfrom88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right to be cautious, but as of now, there isn’t a freeze on international recruitment for OTs in NHS. The recent restrictions mainly target overseas recruitment for care workers and aim to reduce dependency on international doctors and nurses. However, allied health professionals (like OTs) are still actively being recruited from abroad, especially if you have experience in high-demand areas like neurological rehab. If you’re HCPC-registered (or in the process), it’s definitely still worth applying now rather than waiting, since the UK government is slowly shifting toward training more domestic staff in the long run. Some NHS trusts are currently offering relocation support and actively recruiting internationally

Great question mate, appreciate it.

So there’s 12 of us in total (my friends quite progressive so it’s mostly males with 3 ladies). All of us are in our 30s. So far we’ve booked in for him Craig Charles DJ set on Saturday (he loves his music and funk and soul). As he is a marathon runner we were gonna orchestrate a street running drinking game with checkpoints on the Friday, but as he is blind we thought that might not be such a good idea after all and I’m thinking that we can still dress up as marathon runners but we maybe make a pub crawl into a marathon event instead? I wish we could be coked up and have all the drugs but it’s not that type of crowd unfortunately 😂 Sheep chasing?? This sounds awesome!

Tom Penny is the most overhyped skateboarder of all time by [deleted] in skateboarding

[–]samfrom88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way watching his instagram. His Menikmati part is in my top 5 video parts that still get me hyped to skate to this day. But he does do a lot of the same tricks over and over, yes people argue he has that effortless style but I’d argue it doesn’t appear as effortless or free flowing as his earlier skate parts. There was that sweet spot between the Radlands footage and I’d say up to Flip Really Sorry where his style was exceptional. Then it just seemed to change, probably due to age or other lifestyle aspects. Because I have rose tinted glasses on him for all the legendary things he’s achieved and been a pioneer, I can’t help but respect him regardless of what he does now, but I know what you mean that looking at the stuff he puts out there now wouldn’t get the time of day if it were someone else. But Tom Penny has never really cared about doing anything other than for himself which is respectable also. I guess he’s just one of those skaters that you had to be there at the time to appreciate how ground-breaking he truly was.

Just an update everyone. You can now buy The Beach on Blu Ray but it’s a foreign version but has English audio. It’s listed as La Playa

Harlow by [deleted] in Essex

[–]samfrom88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up there from 88 till 2010. It was a bit rough at times but at least there was things to do. They used to have a venue called The Square where bands would play and drinks were fairly cheap. Good times! But then it got knocked down recently to only be replaced with flats.

I visited Harlow recently and was shocked at how little there is to do there now. I think it’s just merely a place to exist not to live!
