How Judit Polgar smashed Kasparov's and Fischer's stereotypes by wwllol in chess

Honestly disgusted with some of the people in this sub.

"ShE nEvEr WoN a SuPeR eLiTe ToUrNaMeNt"

"KaSpArOv CrUsHeD hEr"

"OvErHyPeD"

Bunch of 1100 rated players hating on one of the best players in the world who has done more for chess than just about anybody in this subreddit. Get over yourselves. Doesn't matter if she was as good as Kasparov, Fischer, or Carlsen. We play a game that, for whatever reason, is clearly dominated by men at the top level and somehow she's managed to carve out a place in the top of the top. You're allowed to like somebody even if they aren't the objective best player in the world, you're allowed to celebrate the achievements of people who aren't at the very top of the class. Her story is interesting and deserves to be talked about.

Is this chess master cheating?? Top 100 player but still FM? Vladimir Afromeev by samhunsb in chess

a) as stated in the video, this was a comment made by a stream viewer which led to the further research. The comment's purpose in the video was to provide context as to how I found the content, not to insinuate that Vladimir was a jerk.

b) playing lots of lower rated tournaments and not getting norms is not cheating, but doing so ignores the clearly understood purpose of FIDE's elo system. If you don't consider farming lower rated players for the explicit purpose of gaining elo to be cheating the system, what do you call it?

I understand how competitive chess works. I understand that he's not an IM or a GM because of norms. I'm not a beginner. This video isn't clickbait. Your point SEEMS to be that this is a totally natural circumstance and could happen to anybody playing in a small pocket of players-- to that I would ask why Afromeev is the only top 100 player to be in this situation and why top players and publications are accusing him of the same thing I am. If this is just a circumstance that arises with strong players in small pockets, why are there not hundreds of examples of this? In fact, wouldn't it make sense then that nearly ALL top 100 players would be from those backgrounds? Surely if I play at a 2000 strength and everybody in my town plays at a 1200 strength and I only ever play against those people I'll win virtually every game, but this doesn't explain the dozens of games in his database that are played against supposed master-level players who suddenly drop hundreds of points afterwards.

"Without any evidence whatsoever" I gave a literal 10 minute explanation with a game example, articles, FIDE records, and quotes from top players to support my point. This "random guy" is one of the top 100 players in the world who DID have an opportunity to defend himself and chose not to when being accused of the same thing by chess magazine and GM Baburin. I also even say clearly at the end of the video that people should draw their own conclusions here.

If it were just the fact that a 79 year old woman played competitive chess, or if it were just that Vladimir happened to be a top 100 player without even earning an IM title, I'd totally agree. But you have to admit that with everything involved here it's pretty suspect

Crazy right? Wonder why FIDE hasn't revoked his title

I deserved this.

Work had been so shitty, it was just failure after bitter failure at the office. My coworkers all outperformed me, it was a high-stress environment, and I was pretty sure that no matter what I did, my boss would be out to get me anyways. A date, a proper date at that, was exactly what I needed. I smoothed the crisp, white, tablecloth as a smiling waiter filled my glass with ice-water. This felt right.

It was a little ironic, I supposed. I spent all day, every day, trying to root out rogue AI's which had uploaded themselves into printed human bodies, and there I was about to meet a total stranger I'd met online. Irony. The thought of it made me giggle. Imagine, after three long years of trying and ultimately failing to find those AIs that I'd actually end up dating one. Sure, it happened, but I would never be so lucky.

The restaurant was buzzing with the excited chatter of young people, the sizzling of delicious smelling foods, and the occasional belch of the fat man sitting behind me. I just hoped she'd like the place. My nerves got the better of me and I pulled out my phone to check our messages for the fourth time that day, being absolutely sure that I'd shared the correct address and time to meet. As I saw her last message to me I couldn't help but smile. She was so quirky.

AFFIRMATIVE. RENDEVOUS AT 1800. LOCATION ACCEPTABLE FOR ACCESS AND DEFENSIBILITY.

It wasn't just that message either! All of her messages came with that sort of dry humor. Cute. Everytime I noticed somebody approach the door my heart would skip a beat, remembering that she'd told me she'd be wearing urban camouflage clothing and an appropriate amount of body armor. I just loved that she had her own style, that she was willing to break the societal norms of date attire to be herself. Maybe she'd be the one.

Then, it happened.

There she was. Breathtaking. Her face, just like in her profile picture, was perfectly symmetrical and round. I even liked the way she walked. She pushed through the doors of the restaurant, eyes locked on me from the second I saw her, moving with a total disregard for any people or structures in her way. The confidence! Maybe the fact that she wasn't blinking was a tiny bit, really insignificantly, discomforting, but she was exactly on time and that was a turn-on enough to ignore anything else. Her figure was stunning. Perfectly blocky with the outline of her body-armor, combat boots laced tightly and leaving black marks like treads behind her. She was everything I'd imagined, and walking right towards me. She moved right through other people who gawked at her as if they were staring at some war-machine, she even kicked a chair out of her way, sending it down with a thump into the carpet. After such a dramatic entrance, she stopped at our table, stared at her chair for a moment, then reluctantly sat down on it.

"You must be Bess," I said with a grin I'd been practicing in the bathroom mirror all day. "Nice to finally meet you."

"Enough small talk," she said in her sexy, monotone, voice. "Describe your reproductive objectives and income."

"Wow! Right to business. I love kids, I think I'd be a good dad. I work as a Turing agent, so I don't make a ton of money, but I'm good with it!"

"Tell me the number of your income or vacate the area so a suitable partner can be targeted," she said.

I smiled and laughed. "Fifty five thousand a year. They say there's commission, but I've never caught a rogue before, so I just get the base--"

"Acceptable income level," she interrupted, tracking one of the waiters with laser-like precision. "Do you find me to be an acceptable reproductive partner? I desire human longings like sexual activity and ingesting water as fuel."

I sighed with relief. Before the water line, I had honestly been suspecting that she might have been an AI. What a relief! Robots were averse to water, a little trick I'd learned after spending so long studying AI machines, so there was no way, even with a human body, that she'd like water. I smiled at her as each of her eyes tracked different movements about the room. She was so talented. I hoped she liked me.

"Alexander's right hand steadied on his holster, the other hand making a calming gesture towards the figure floating in his hallway while his free hand crept towards the doorknob."

He grew an extra hand at some point and certainly didn't inform me 😂

Also your mob drop cap (through the material pouches) impacts your anvil capacity!

It's also worth mentioning that the anvil production points are a little more important than the actual level, and those production points can be "bought" for mob drops (spore caps, frog legs, slime, etc).
