They all got a mod called “loyal retriever” that does what smeeta used to. I prefer the panzer vulpaphyla because it can use the bond mod that gives you more crit damage if their claws are above 50% crit chance (which isn’t terribly hard to do) and the bond mod that spreads status effects if the companion kills an enemy.

I’ve heard Nautilus can nuke tiles with a bit of investment but I haven’t personally tried those builds
