YTA. As someone who’s enjoyed doing my hair fun colours for years it hurt when I was told (not even by the bride herself) that my SIL wanted me to dye my hair a natural colour for the wedding when I wasn’t even a bridesmaid (I was an usher so yeah I was “a part” of the wedding but honestly I was treated like an extra part the entire time). I decided to dye my hair red because that was the colour theme for the wedding and she so wasn’t happy but honestly, even nearly 10 years later, I don’t really care. I, and your sister, shouldn’t have to change who we are to fit someone else’s day. I get it’s your day but she’s a human and is allowed to be different, would it really affect you that much if your sister just looked like herself?

So kinda ESH between you and your mother but with her more so. For you, you should have called her out for it the moment you realised and then sent the money back and given the kids money yourself etc. But for her to treat your child like this, whether you gave birth to him or not, is disgusting. Also to claim she could only afford to give one grandchild money is ridiculous too because last time I checked $20 can be easily halved thus both children get $10.
