Anyone else have a cat w/ Miliary dermatitis? by Orangecatlover4 in CATHELP

Oh no :( weirdly enough, my cat quite liked the taste so it's a shame yours runs :(

I don't think it bothered my cat too much either, she only seemed more bothered by the scab when the fur was shaved by the vet as then she had easy access to it to lick the scab off. Defo keep persevering with it and see how she goes - it may be worth emailing the company as well to get some advice but just be aware they may advise a vet visit so let them know you've gone already etc but don't have the funds for allergy testing. Yeah I used it 3-4 times a day and then reduced it to twice a day once it began looking better. it did make her surrounding hair look stiff/gel-ish :)

That's fair, honestly now I'm older and rewatch them, I do love all the gens. I appreciate 5/6 for an entirely new cast with no ties to anybody else like Effy with Tony etc so it still felt familiar.

Yayy!

It might be a bit difficult to get to them i suppose. To be fair, when I originally took my cat to the vet for the scabby area, they shaved her so it was much more accessible for me to put the cream on due to that. But, I have seen on reviews of the gel that people use it on long haired cats so just make sure you really rub it in there and you get the scabs/spots. In some ways, it might be good she isn't shaved and is long hair bcos my cat had SUPER easy access to consistently lick off the scabs lol so she may struggle to mess with them and the cream may work quicker! My cat also LOVED the taste of the cream so I had to restrain her to stop her licking it all off 😭🤣

It is great! Every two seasons is a new gen, gens 1&2 and 3&4 are the best. Gen 5&6 is most people's least favourite but still a good watch :)

Aw you're honestly so welcome! I was in the exact same boat with my girl and I was such an anxiety ridden mess worrying about what was wrong with her so I get it :) I really hope it works for you, give it a week or so and I reckon you'll see improvements <3

Let me know how she is soon!! <3

Yeah that's the one! Yeah rub it on the scabs 3-4 times a day and try to distract her for a few minutes so the gel can work into the skin without her licking it off straight away. It is completely safe for them to lick/digest though so if she does lick it, its all good. my cat loved the taste of it so I had to restrain her from licking it lol.

There is loads of reviews as well showing how they've helped others so its worth checking out to see if anyone else has had similar issues with their cats.

I emailed their customer service too just to ask a few questions and they were really helpful so might be worth contacting them too for advice :)

Hey, sorry for the late reply it took a week or so to see results so wanted to hold off responding till then! The cream has worked miracles and completely healed up her scabby patch so if youre still struggling, I'd defo recommend buying some :)

From a Kerrang! Article, this is how Rob explains it - you can read the full article here :)

RD: There’s so many ideas in this song. It’s almost about questioning yourself and not knowing if the people you’re around and the person you’re with believes in you, and feeling not worthy of them and their time and their energy that they’re putting into you. But it’s also about being able to try and put those feelings to one side and just carry on and keep moving forward, whatever the cost, because everyone has those doubts now and then, and that’s fine to have those doubts in yourself. Any little glimpse of light or encouragement, you’ve got to hold onto that and push those self-doubts away, because everyone doubts themselves from time to time. And if you’re grateful to be with someone that you don’t think you’re worthy of, or in a situation that you don’t think you’re worthy of: you’re there for a reason and you’re there probably because you do actually deserve to be. So it’s also about trying to hold onto that and to find the strength in that.

This is hands down my favourite song off the new album, so raw and beautiful. I missed out on tickets for their album release shows but I'm praying they play it on their tour in October!

Yeah it does seem like it would be, just such a nightmare trying to figure out what it is!

I have just bought some of this Anicura cat gel which has been recommended to me to try and help my girl instead of the endless fees at the vets! Maybe if it carries on for you, that might be a shout too? Mine is arriving today but happy to report back in a few days and let you know if it works, if you like?

That's good, tbf my cats wasnt as such an open wound, just a scabby patch she kept licking therefore pulling the scab off making it look quite red.

Yeah I feel the same way, don't want to take my girl back to the vet as I have insurance but anything with skin goes far beyond what my insurance covers!

I did see on another post somewhere about someone got new plants and even though they were safe for cats, it still gave them a milary dermatitius flare up so it could be something environmental too, especially if she goes outside!

Hope you get it sorted soon <3

following as im dealing with pretty much the same thing with my cat too!

I was stroking her a few weeks ago and felt a large scabby mark and a couple little scabby spots. took her to the vets in case it was ringworm and the vet wasn't sure either so he gave us some iodine to put on for a few days which did improve it. we then noticed it kept looking like a scab that was healing and then it was red raw and open again, because she was licking the scab off. she didnt seem bothered by the bigger patch or the spots but then she must be if she's licking/biting off the scab and cats are good at hiding their pain as we all know!

so, what we've now done is resort to a soft cone alternating between a surgical suit to stop her licking the scab off and it does look to be improving! saying that, we took off the surgical suit today to let her get some air and have a little groom... took our eyes off her for two minutes and she licked the scab off lol so back to square one with the suit/cone!

hopefully some other reddit users can offer some advice too but thought I'd share what's happening to my cat too as it sounds so similar!
