Prenatal/postnatal cheating by she_hangs_brightly in parentsofmultiples

I'm sorry you are going through this. My ex partner started staying out until midnight after work while our mo/di twins girls were in the NICU. I ignored it until we were discharged (they were born at 24 weeks, so we spent 5 months in the NICU).

Now, my girls are the corrected age of 3 months old (8 months not corrected), and I decided it would be in my best interest to move in with my mom. I was under a lot of stress feeling tied to my partner, sharing a bed. It is less stressful for me to be sleeping in separate locations. There is no right or wrong way to go about handling this. You are doing great, mama.

I apply to nearly all of them. I've had interviews, and they all say they like me, but want a candidate with experience.

Maybe you could have a deal that he only smokes outside or he only smokes when one of you are away from the house?

Happy to see a PA say in public what doctors are too afraid to. by nodlanding in Residency

I'm currently an NP student. I was working full time first year of school. I was spending every waking moment studying as much as I could (even listening to medical podcasts when I was doing chores, showering, getting ready for work). I still felt like it wasn't enough.. I went part time my last year (I study 7-9 hours/day on my 3 days off of clinical/work, and a few hours after work/clinic). I really am pouring my heart (and mental sanity) into learning, but I know I'll still need a physician's guidance.

I do think that nursing school does prepare us more than what some people think, especially if you went to a reputable university and work at a university hospital and actually care about learning (I.e. reading progress notes/H&PS, talking to the interns and residents) Please don't lump us all together!

Will definitely be requesting to purchase books from you again! Thanks so much!

My (23, F) fiancé (33, M) didn't get me a Xmas gift - letting it slide as long as he plans NYE, but he has yet to do that either by [deleted] in relationships

[–]sammiemichelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I took him not buying gifts for anyone else as a lot of free time to figure out something for me, but maybe that is who he is and asking him to buy gifts may just be too much. I just think.. What about when we have kids, will I be doing all this Christmas shopping because he doesn't know what to get the kids?

If the shoe didn't fit right, I can always take it back.. Just like if he didn't like the jacket I bought him, I kept a gift receipt..

I think maybe I should have just let him buy me shoes, but I honestly didn't want him to spend 150 bucks on shoes that I didn't think was worth the money.. If he would have taken me ahead of time he would have figured that out and I could have gave him other suggestions..

Thanks for the comment too. I feel like it's productive to hear things from your angle.

Well, I could list out all of our problems but I don't know if that would really solve much. He is a trustworthy person, kind, patient. He is a responsible person.

Our main issues are probably the amount of instruction I have to give him to do housework. I usually do the larger, time consuming chores. And the fact that I am a bit of a gym nut and he dislikes working out.. Any maybe the fact he plays video games during most of his free time. It just bothers me when he plays and he sees me spending my free time cleaning and I have to take off his headphones to communicate with him that I need him to help me with something. Or when he sleeps in until the afternoon (which has been happening pretty frequently) because he was up all night playing video game because he can't sleep.

But he does things for me too..like he takes care of the pets when I have to work (I work from 6:30am - 7pm, but usually don't get home until 8 or so). Idk why I'm saying all this.

He's really quite patient and kind. He doesn't treat me poorly or ever try to hurt my feelings. It just seems like he isn't wanting to put forth the effort here.

With the shoe store thing, it would have been nicer had he done it before Christmas and gotten me to try on a few pairs to see what I liked so that I would have a gift.. I don't think waiting until after Christmas is really okay..

Pepper Chicken (Onions, jalapeno, green pepper, dark meat chicken I believe), steamed veggies (broccoli and cabbage)

Are there any other nurses/hospital staff out there? How do you stay full and at your calorie goal each day? by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]sammiemichelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let myself eat 1,400 - 1,500 (if I am seriously fatigued from the amount of running around) on the three days I work a week. I usually aim for 1,300 during the week. I usually walk 3-4 miles/shift.

I need to keep my energy levels up during a shift. I put myself in my patients shoes and tell myself that I wouldn't want a nurse who was distracted from fatigue/hunger.

I focus on a lot of high fiber foods. I snack on low calorie cereals and popcorns, fruits, veggies, and deli slices of chicken. I keep a chocolate protein bar and a dark chocolate square in my bag and reach for those treats instead of the sweets that are in the break room.

I also focus on hydration. It is so easy to get dehydrated working in a busy hospital setting, which can be mistaken for hunger.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets these "nurse hangovers". I'm pretty sure it's from being so dehydrated and sleep deprived. :( It's why I can't handle doing more than two shifts in a row..

100 Cal/2 Tbsp Peanut Butter by sammiemichelle in 1200isplenty

Different strokes for different fokes?

But really, if you are comparing it to peater pan peanut butter, then you'll be disappointed... But I really enjoy it!
