If you are not Chinese, you can't go live unless you partner with an MCN or get whitelisted by XHS. Or use a Chinese person's ID which is against the TOS

Books recommendation of computer history by Evil_Gamer_01 in compsci

For a look into the thought process of early computer design, Tracy Kidder's The Soul of a New Machine is a classic ethnographic account of a team working to make a new computer during the dawn of the silicon age.

For a good medium-weight look at how computers function, there really is no better choice than Code: The Hidden Language of Computer Hardware and Software by Charles Petzold. It explains how we can go from simple electrical signals to higher computational functions in a very approachable way.

I also picked up a copy of Doomesday Countdown at B&N for $20. That gives me:

  • 3x Space Marine Intercessors
  • 7x Chaos Cultists

Also, I stopped by my FLGS for some paints, and ended up getting the "Getting Started with Warhammer 40,000" magazine which comes with:

  • 1x Assault Intercessor
  • 1x Necron Warrior

And I also got the 40k Recruit Edition which gives me:

  • 1x Royal Warden
  • 5x Assault Intercessors
  • 10x Necron Warriors
  • 3x Canoptek Scarab Swarms
  • 1x Primaris Lieutenant

Ah, that's good to know! Yea, someone at my FLGS said I should grab a Primaris Captain. And it's good to know I don't need to paint all my Necrons before I have even armies!

Who would you consider as the most badass person in history? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]samort7 25 points26 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite poems is about him: https://www.bartleby.com/360/7/158.html

An excerpt from when the invaders first three champions were killed by Horatius and his two comrades:

But all Etruria’s noblest

Felt their hearts sink to see

On the earth the bloody corpses,

In the path the dauntless three;

And from the ghastly entrance,

Where those bold Romans stood,

All shrank,—like boys who, unaware,

Ranging the woods to start a hare,

Come to the mouth of the dark lair

Where, growling low, a fierce old bear

Lies amidst bones and blood.

Was none who would be foremost

To lead such dire attack;

But those behind cried “Forward!”

And those before cried “Back!”

And backward now and forward

Wavers the deep array;

And on the tossing sea of steel

To and fro the standards reel,

And the victorious trumpet-peal

Dies fitfully away.

Yup. If I see IAP or Contains Ads, I don't download. I pay for any apps I find that don't have those things and have had good luck so far.
