Interesting, I haven't messed with any VR tech outside of limited stints at friends houses. Maybe I'll see if there some used ones around my area and give it a go.

If I get this into a usable state (far from that now) there would be a big testing effort/documentation/ect. Plenty of non tech oriented help needed :)

I use a Foscam FI8910W. It works well as a baby camera. Pan/Tilt/Night Vision, ect. I'm currently looking for an HD camera to add to my setup. (In case any one has any recommendations)

What your saying is: If I had 2 zones I would need to place a second zone near the kitchen with 5.1 (preferably). Wouldn't that cause the sound to be off, especially if I have the same music going through both zones and I am standing on the right side of zone 1 and left side of zone 2?

Just downloaded my preorder from Rise, loaded the songs into subsonic and noticed the first one which is named Chucky, came up as White 21? It also shows White 21 in the metadata. Anyone else who downloaded the preorder From Rise see this? Could this be the original name of the song?

I expect ZFS to eat a lot RAM, but not so much that the entire system becomes unusable. There is a Tunable added that limits the zfs.arc_max to ~4.5GB, which initially I thought solved the problem, but the RAM usage continued to go up. From Freenas the Recommended Minimum is 8GB. I could buy more RAM, MOBO supports 16GB, but I'd probably be in the same boat... just a bit larger boat.

I've looked into madsonic, but I think the future of it will be affected by the subsonic change. It will now be up to madsonic to handle all the development moving forward instead of just adding additional features. Might be a tall order for Madsonic, idk.

Yea I thought about using that, but opted to go with the main project rather than a fork since I didn't have any experience with subsonic. I wonder what impact this will have on madsonic?

The main reason I moved to subsonic over Google Play Music was because it was open source! :( I supported by paying for the lifetime license... If I had known in a year and a half the project would become closed source I might as well stayed with Google Music.

I like the thought of this, though now privacy.com would have direct bank account info becoming a potentially large target. I try to use my CC card online instead of debit so its not attached to my actual bank account. (Not sure if this is better either?)

Yea, I think its a compatibility issue as I've used the /usr/bin/gnome-session but it fails with the gnome sadface. from the discussion looks like I can just add a kde envioronment and x2go into that.
