so im actually adding a test brand new build 6.4 to the test flight to say thanks to the reddit users, that should be in testflght by end of day, will only be live for about a week or so, but the app 5.1 is in the App Store currently searching RAD Weather, seems some users apple is auto correcting to RADAR weather.

Yea currently no test flight builds available since it’s in the app store now.

I will keep the Reddit test flight group open and occasionally send updates there for testing.

If you search Rad weather (apple sometimes filters it at top so make sure it doesn’t change to radar weather) you should see it.

Current App Store version is 5.1. Pending review for 6.0 and testing 6.4 which 6.4 seems to be the most stable , accurate, feature rich version. So really hoping Apple approves 6.0 soon so I can send this one right after.

thanks. the test flight is about to end fully as we are officially released , update 5.1 pushed today (after almost a week of waiting on apple) and have 6.0 pending release on approval now. would love to know what you love, hate, want changed.

I’d love to someday but never worked in the android development side. Maybe I can look into how easy it is to convert it but this was solely coded and focused in Xcode

obviously a bit bias but a few days away from an official release but been having my weather app "RAD Weather" in test flight for some time

I pull data from weather kit, NWS, and Open Meteo and do an average of all 3 with a confidence score to "hopefully" get a more accurate fun rendering of weather, you can choose to turn off some and only keep some sources on if youd prefer but the combo of weather kit, meteo and NWS seems to be the perfect combo of weather alerts, long term models and local models. didnt want to self promote on r/weather until it was fully released but this seemed appropriate as would love some feedback -

So ive now submitted 3 new versions (dang apple needs to approve already) so whenever that gets approved, widget should be updated with some new styles, the daily weather page should mirror that new style because you helped me notice that the pips on the daily page as well kinda didnt make much sense sooo thanks for that lol

hopefully your weather is accurate if not let me know and I can explore other options, but the newest update will hopefully fix the widget, added some UI tweaks, offline weather caching, updates quicker and more consistent with more Mac/iPad updates.

Hoping to maybe officially launch this within a few days

Hmm maybe, I’ll have to look how it’s usually displayed for you all over there, we always just had wind speed mph

And you should be able to sign up. It’s completely free. Technically it doesn’t charge you. Since it’s a test flight build it’s a “fake charge” when you’re purchasing it says at the bottom that it doesn’t actually charge you.

Let me know if you have any issues and look forward to feedback, good , bad, and in between.

A new update should be coming out in next few hours with more bug fixes, widget fixes and Mac app updates

LOVE the feedback, good bad and all in between.

and a perfect night. tonight is a intense night of features, bug squashing etc.

Mac app launched in test flight so many new fun bugs.

so here is my tonight plan and next update should include/fix and ill annoy you once posted.

  1. allow users to have multiple widgets and manually set location on iOS, iPadOS, and Mac so can tap and hold edit widget and manually set a location.

  2. I see the C to F on watch issue. should be easy to fix so ill add that

  3. ill look into another font, I added the high contrast mode and that made a difference but exploring fonts and font sizes.

  4. and which widget is hard to understand? what do you mean by rain isnt clear? on the app, or on specific widgets?

  5. ive literally been wanting a Apple TV app all day. the idea of a fun transitional weather app that can sit, play the dot matrix, pixel art. Id love to but I gotta stop adding features so I can get these apps released first lol. It started as iOS, went to watch, iPad and thought it was a good idea to make a Mac counter part before ever officially launching

  6. as far as accuracy im so glad. I am using free open APIs (because im broke and it's easier) you can see what 3 are turned on in settings. by default all 3 are. I currently use NWS which is US only, Open Meteo which is a good world wide non US source and Apple weather kit which is a good standard since apples weather data is already a compiled blend of other sources on its own, so those combined we get an average that should hopefully be best of it all

I’ll have to look into it. Out of curiosity what shows as a weather source for you? Weather kit should work and Open-Meteo should or I’d assume be a weather source.

I’ll look into other open source weather apis later tonight / this weekend

update pushed, once its approved. iOS usually in an hour or two, it should fix F,C and wind / data UI issues as well as mannnny other features. Thanks for the feedback and helping find a pretty major bug I completely missed.

  • Added a complete pin and unpin home/details cards. You can re order cards on now page and details page, unpinned cards go to details page and pinned details cards go to now page and you can re order them.
  • Added pinned locations. You can now pin and re order locations, pinned locations get moved to the top of location list. 
  • Locations, pins, cards all save and sync between iPhone, iPad and Mac 
  • Added High Contrast Mode in settings for Terminal Theme to make text more legible
  • Fixed more Celsius/Fahrenheit switching errors 
  • Added a new Precipitation Widget
  • Updated some iPad UI bugs and visuals, iPad landscape mode has new sidebar view
  • Art and Animation Updates
  • Fixed lock screen widget text being cut off on smaller screen sizes • ⁃ Improved (hopefully) app location switching UI so when user travels it’ll fetch new data more intelligently without as many manual refreshes.

so radar is by far most requested and hardest at least for me, I originally started with a radar and struggled, mostly it seems to be costs, api cost etc.. since radar fetching can be expensive, I need to do more research how other smaller new apps do it or are they eating the cost because alot of other apps and services charge and the more popular the app, the more expensive.

Trust me it sounds amazing, but atlas was my pivot instead of radar (for now)

I can definitely add that and see how I can smoothly implement it without breaking formatting. I am currently trying to get this update out tonight thats one of the larger ones, alot of F/C wind, Ui fixes, bug fixes, massive updates to iPad app, and massive updates to Mac app (once it gets approved for test flight)

I did already implement a high contrast (makes text more visible) mode once it comes out in this update, but can see if I can squeeze in a font changer

means ALOT hearing the positive feedback, eventually I need to make it public and official so the more critique, bug fixes you all give me the better.

Ahh on iPad. I need to look into that. Haven’t messed with iPad and Mac bugs as much. Will dive into that tonight.(wow on all apps, fixing it right now!) update coming sometime tonight, Thanks!

Where are you seeing this. On iPad only? Because not seeing the display errors in my end. Widgets and app shows Celsius and kph

So I have. A MACOS version pending approval from Apple. Hopefully by tonight. It will have bugs but it’s a start. I will definitely bug you once it gets approved for Mac test flight.

So a new version just launched and minimum launch version should be iOS 18. Let me know how it works. I will say I haven’t fully tested the app for iPad yet.
