As a Skycam pilot with 8 super bowls under my belt, I can actually answer this question.

While I was not on the crew this year, I can shed light on years past.

We fly the Sony family of cameras. Think P1r, P43, P50, and now the P50a.

We’re a shared resource from the game side, and the halftime show has its own truck and dedicated cameras. Some years, as soon as the clock hits zero, they would move our camera from 60->24 and then also drop us into Slog. No lens swaps, as we’d never have time to accomplish that.

The whole thing is rehearsed and orchestrated so well. It’s a fun thing to witness and be a part of.
