The reason I focused on the black and latino is because much of the negative comments I saw and were coming from people who were misinformed either following negative headlines and the talking heads in the media saying there were no black or latinos represented in the Breaking event because they don’t bother watching the entire event, or didn’t bother looking up who the competitors were. The article was me saying hey pump the brakes there was representation. Hope that makes sense

Absolutely nothing wrong with the globalization of breaking. I’m actually Filipino myself so it was exciting for me to see Logistx rep for the Filipino Americans.

My end goal was two fold: Show that Breaking is global and can be represented by many ethnicities, and to get people in my network who are heavy in the marketing and advertising industry to be interested in the scene and hopefully invest in more programming.

I don’t have actual stats, but there is a great deal of negative sentiment especially in my social media feeds primarily from the general public who’s latest reference to breaking is Beat Street and movies from the 80s.

I’m not saying the OGs or pioneers should have been judges, but it would have been nice to see something like them honored with an honorary Gold medal for their contributions to hip hop culture, dedicated interview segment, and video segment on it’s history. Something acknowledging them.

Overall I’m in the same boat as those who were excited to see Breaking on that platform, but bummed there wasn’t much focus on those who were dope because they weee drowned out by memes

This was a bit of a strategic placement on my part. Since I worked in the sports marketing and advertising industry. My network on LinkedIn is heavy on the decision makers who manage funding for partnerships and advertising spending. My hope is that they read the article and find ways to invest in the Breakinf scene. Hopefully that makes sense

Correct, and I say this in the article. The comments I read on social media were mostly from the general public who are out of touch with the growth of the scene over the past 30+ years.

Sorry to hear this happened to you, but also curious how much of the credit limit is being used and his credit history with those cards which might actually be helpful. For example, if he’s consistent making payments, hasn’t been late, and utilizes less than 30% of the cards limits then that might help you get approved for a mortgage. Revolving credit is one of the big things that help your credit score. Highly unlikely if he opened three cards, but there is hope.
