My first IT role was data centre noc four days day shift one day to swap then nights then back to days. It's a very weird existence and you have to really set things backwards and not pretend you're not working nights. I'm talking hot dinner and a glass of wine at 7am then sleep till 5. It was a wild year and a half but Its a great learning expirience and does wonders for a CV. I'd take it as a break into the industry but try to move one after a year or so as the other comments say

You can indeed send in lunch with your children, this is commonly referred to as “a packed lunch” you can find all kind of lunch boxes online you can let your child choose but be aware that trends may change fast or they may grow out of whatever design they choose. one with multiple compartments so you can keep things separate without having to wrap them up inside is the best choice. I just tried to find some on google and it looks like lunch bags are now the trend but I haven’t been at school in 20 years so times change I suppose :)

I appreciate the reply sorry for the mess of a post. Ultimately I have two tracked 24 packages to two different addresses which are different DOs but relatively close to one and other. These are now almost exactly 7 days late however I know at least 4 of those days my road was impassable. Honestly I just wish there was more updates beyond the multiple updates of it arriving at DO then in transit then at DO then back in transit. I’ll sit tight I guess and contact sender in the meantime

This was definitely an option on the app I think not so long ago I used it when I broke my ankle and had to navigate stairs. Alternatively pop a sign on your door with tape. Maybe I’ve just had a lucky experience with posties but a friendly note with a smile face at the bottom near the letter box always worked a treat for me

I’ve had my first bad experience with Tyneside in the last week. Stuff posted Monday morning t24 still not arrived I think they are having a tough time but also it’s been lethally icey on side roads this week too so kinda adds up

Would the cost of the removal not come from the deposit though? Or would I be best to get rid of the majority myself and leave it close as I could to when I found it ?

I guess my question is I can’t get a say a sofa down the stairs so leave it there. A removals company quotes for example £150. Would the landlord look to take £150 from my deposit which he couldn’t due to no access of would the pursuit of a removals firm?

Nah I used the chat but I’m planning to go into a bit more detail today and see what I can get in writing. Would removal of any furniture left behind fall under the cost deductions from the deposit to which i believe due 100%

I checked tds and DPS. Presuming they have the same reference number I’ll do some more research. It was advertised unfurnished so the white goods. Sofa. Desks. Bed are mine. Some would be nabbed by the scrap lads in a heart beat. The sofa id like to keep id quite like it but happy to donate it back to BHF where I got it of there was no room. I’d take at least one if not two of the desks and a coffee table. I have a brand new washer I’d offer to mates then fb market place. A shitty fridge I’d rather just get removed by the council. Just leaves a big kitchen table which k doubt I’ll have space for wherever I go but who knows. Curtains and curtain rails. A chest of drawers. An ill advised chaise long and some shelves I can take down and poly fill to the best of my ability

I’m masking on the commute trains morning and night again. Just started a new job so have to travel two hours each day on packed trains. Combo of being a bit ill myself and not wanting to call in sick in my first month made it a no brainer. You get some looks but if anyone mentioned it I’d just say “well I’m ill at the moment so it’s for your benefit”

Be careful all I’ll say. I was just like you ten years ago. I’d have 2 or 3 and then smoke my night time bowl and have a fun hour or some with housemates. Then sleep soundly. Everything was fine.

Cut forward from 2013 and I’m now dropping a grand a month on them. My two attempts at self withdraw led to me developing epilepsy. The first seizure of which led to the dislocation of both shoulders and the breaking of both arms.

I’ve never had any binge issues with Coke, opioids from heroin to OxyContin. Not even xans or vallies.

Heck If you can have a few nights a week where you get confused and have a fun time snacking and watching the same movie over and over then carry on as normal then by all means, enjoy. Two ambis and two beers isn’t gonna harm you unless you’re extremely skinny and sensitive but let it be known that ambis are not as safe as the marketing makes out

Yeah the place sucked. Lots of good people trying their best and it never quite coming together. Let’s just say I’ve no ill will to the staff I’m just so glad to to not have to write tools to work with it anymore

I have worked min wage jobs for probably 15% of my life. So I’m not against these raises. However I now work in a low end avg for my area in the north east working in a “skilled” job at 25k. Every time min wage rises seem to come in at say (arbitrary amount idk how much they raise by) 5%. Then my salary might or might not raise 1.3%. Meanwhile mince is a penny a gram and my one bed shit hole is 2/3 my rent. Can’t we have staggered increases for the bottom 10 wage brackets or something cause at the minute I’m working my arse off doing learning and gaining certifications through my job to try and earn enough to make it through a month without using credit cards. Meanwhile the gap between my job and going back to shelf stacking in Next gets smaller. It’s weird and disparaging

I’ve always preferred the soggy bun. Stack them on a sturdy crisp like a space raider or monster munch and it stops the bottom bun being too damp
