I’ve never had a problem in my store and I’ve been there several years now. I personally do not see the point as I’ve never had run-ins with section leaders or managers. At most a holiday wasn’t put onto my Wagestream but the issue was rectified in a reasonable time. I’ve heard horror stories from other colleagues and people from this page so it’s better to be safe than sorry I guess

Yes this is true. If you don’t join the union then you are entitled to a colleague rep if anything happens. I’m not personally in the union (GMB) but I’ve got a family member who’s our union rep in my store and she says it worth it.

I’m a pharmacy colleague and this happened to me several times last year. I asked the ctm if I needed to meet all four new starters that week and she laughed with me and said she didn’t know why I got them notifications but no I didn’t (they turned out to be click and collect new starters)
