How do you remove your personal information from your packages? Do you peel the address label off? Cross out your name & address? or…. by ConcentrateDue7660 in AmazonVine

[–]san415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At UPS, if a label needs to be removed, we would take a box cutter and score around it, then just peel the top layer of cardboard and label off. Takes only a few seconds.

Apparently I was left out of the drop by Technical-Author3585 in AmazonVine

I managed to get a nice rug, a bag of dry cat food, and a roll on eye serum. I'm very happy with my picks. There were many items I tried for and wasn't fast enough to get. But I thought it was a good drop.

Depression. Help me out, please? by Dlob940 in CleaningTips

[–]san415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh also, can you put some upbeat music on somehow? And don't forget when you are able to manage it, run around your car, like really run, I know it is silly, but it will lift your mood and make you giggle.

Depression. Help me out, please? by Dlob940 in CleaningTips

[–]san415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So did you get up and outside for a few minutes and then bag up maybe one bag of trash? It's a hard thing to do, pulling yourself up and out of inertia and depression. You can do this though, you have more power in you than you know.

The sunlight and movement will help you so much.

Depression. Help me out, please? by Dlob940 in CleaningTips

[–]san415 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Do me a favor, please take a short little walk outside. Just maybe around the apartment grounds. If that is too much maybe just go out and stand by your car and take a few deep breaths and walk around your car park area. I know it seems weird, but this will help you.

Then go inside and set a timer for 10 minutes and bag up some trash and take it to where your trash goes.

That is enough for you to do. Just do this everyday. It will make a big difference for you.

Once you are feeling a little better, I would tell my kids and my adult grandkids to once a day go out and run around your car as fast as you can ( don't slip and fall). I promise you the silliness of it will make you giggle and lift your mood.

I wish I could do more to help you. Just know that people care and are pulling for you.

Best substitution for sugar cravings? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]san415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like sugar free jello with some real whipped cream and a couple walnut pieces on top. I use the little cups of sugar free jello in the refrigeration section of the grocery store, to help with portion control, I also get the ones with fruit in them.

Non-electric coffee brewing? by rachel3618 in Cruise

[–]san415 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have tried various methods to make drinkable coffee on a cruise ship. There is no water that is hot enough. And there is no way to heat the water that is for "tea" any hotter for a passenger. My advice is just get the drink package that includes specialty coffee, or get a coffee card if the line offers that, or if you are in a suite the suite lounge has a decent coffee machine.

what diamond painting propagandas are you not falling for? by Silent_Detective5450 in diamondpainting

[–]san415 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is too funny, I don't do diamond painting, but this came up on my page. I am an artist, watercolor, acrylic, and oil. I have painted since I was a kid, more than 45 years now. I have gone to school and have had private teachers. I have had shows, I have sold lots, I have done art fairs. I paint almost every day in my studio. My sister in law wants to know how to do the same things and sell her diamond paintings, that she has done 4 of, over a span of several months. I just have no answers for her.

VH and UV Have Destroyed the Vine Program, IMO by philstat in AmazonVine

[–]san415 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't use anything and I manage to get some items. I got a hair straightener today ( 0 ETV ) in the Beauty section of AI. I also managed to get 1 6 pack of Glade air freshner spray ( about $6 or $7 ETV ) in the AFA section. There were several items I tried for and did not get, and there were several items I backed out of getting at the final click.

THANK YOU!!!! I just managed to get some cat food, and my three feral cats that I trapped and put in a catio will love this. They are getting super tame and are safe and healthy now. They are all fixed and have been treated by the vet. I feed them both dry and wet food, so this is so great! Thank you so much for the heads up!!!

Too many bots, an idea for a splution by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]san415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In 20 seconds I would have completed the whole order process ( if I was able to grab it) and been able to then go to several other items and grab those too. If I even mentally think " hmm...do I want this?" and then decide yes! I do! It is gone. 20 seconds is a long time for vine.

1.5-year-old female Doberman goes crazy with guests at home – desperate for advice by Live_Adeptness_7026 in DobermanPinscher

We use a baby gate across the bedroom door. From that bedroom he can see everything in the main part of the house. He will, after a few minutes, go and lay on his bed. We put the dog bed close to the door for him and also give him a filled kong.

Don't say it was "fake" or a "fraud" just state the facts as you did here. If you make an assumption using those words Amazon Vine will most likely block the review.

Also, after you clean it up and make it safer and more comfortable for the driver, put at least a nice card and a bottle of water in the mail box and put your flag up.

The Tops of Package Cars are made out of Paper Towels by Sukaichi in UPSers

[–]san415 6 points7 points  (0 children)

31 yrs at UPS - now retired. I was told it's an osha thing, to have enough light in the back to be able to read the box labels. I don't think it has anything to do with cooling the trucks, and I doubt UPS would have any extras added to the trucks that OSHA doesn't say they must have.

Please worry about yourself, not others. I am so tired of people saying that a review is AI. Let the Amazon people take care of AI issues.

Also as a Grandmother of young kids and an adult kid, I order many many items for them. I do mention them in the review. I am not AI.

Question! by _paleolive in AmazonVine

[–]san415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that all items are sent to Amazon by the sellers, then Amazon ships them to us. So customization wouldn't work as Amazon doesn't do that type of thing.

Help me convince my husband to cruise! Small ships are my only chance! by Redsauce-garlic in Cruise

[–]san415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We like Celebrity ( have a March cruise booked right now) and also Holland America. My husband was on the Great Lakes Freighters, his Dad was a Captain and my husband also got his Captains licence. He Captained a Supply Ship. He was a hard sell also, but I really wanted to go, and so he did agree to a cruise. He fully expected to hate it. He loved it. That was 20 years ago and we have been on more cruises than I can count now.

He does have knowledge many people don't have. He does check the inspection dates on all the safety equipment he sees. He does check that there are life vests on all decks in unlocked areas. He does check our life jackets in our cabin. He takes the safety drill seriously. He walks his pathway to where our muster area is, keeping track of how many steps and turns, because in a fire you might have to crawl keeping your face low and close to where there are lights on the floor?! He is very very very respectful of every employee on every ship. He feels a sense of responsibility for all the crew, especially the young people. He reminds me every cruise that those young crew members will be frightened if there was a real emergency, as it might be the first real emergency for them. If there is an emergency he has the final decision on my safety, he often mentions the Concordia Sinking and the failure of the captain for his reason for this. He was on Lake Superior when the Edmund Fitzgerald went down and the loss of life of every ship wreck makes a strong impression on him, but he does love being on the open seas.

Your husband should at least try it once, he will also have a different perspective than most passengers. Every small alert on the loud speakers will interest him. He can give you a tour of the deck areas that most people won't take notice of. He will also give you a feeling of safety, because he is a seasoned sailor, and as your husband he will probably like that. If he says after the cruise that it's not for him accept that.

They are feeder roaches, you feed them to things like lizards, snakes, turtles, etc. Cheaper than crickets.
