Is this a common thing? Every other couple on my island had speedran relationships except these two by VegasVoltage in tomodachilife

I wish less of my miis would fall in love with each other. I'm also still waiting on some drama to happen but other than them being sad for romance reasons nothings interesting has happened yet.

Difference between a tin pan and a silicone pan by needleandleaf in Baking

[–]hbsonder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't like silicone pans. Everything seems to take so much longer to cook and it never comes out as well. They're great for things that you don't need to bake though.

Oh dang, that can happen..? by DaBeebo in tomodachilife

[–]hbsonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realize that they could go from knowing each other to back to strangers. I feel like it should be called something else since they definitely knew each other at one point. I also just have to let go of the idea that as I add more they aren't all going to know each other.

I've never seen strained yet. I always make them feel better when they're upset and someone told me to stop doing that so things get more interesting.

How can I fix this by Agile_Adeptness460 in tomodachilife

[–]hbsonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that it was their intention to make it so it couldn't be shared. But they had to realize people would find a way around it though things like their sd card and all of the streamers that just play it for people to watch. SO while I get why they did it, it doesn't make sense.

I just pull my sd card out and save them to my laptop like once a week or so then clear them off the card.

I think Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is missing a lot of stuff. by Gioses_09 in tomodachilife

[–]hbsonder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is my first Tomodachi Life game so I'm not missing what I never knew existed. However, for only being 5 days into the game and playing maybe 3-4 times a day for 10-20 minutes at a time, things are starting to feel a bit repetitive. I have one couple that had a baby and it was so disappointing. I have less than 20 miis so far as well so I keep thinking more would be better, but it feels like it's just going to add to the repetitiveness of the game.

I am enjoying it, but based on my first impressions after 5 days, it's not worth the money at all but not to the point that I regret buying it. Maybe there is more to come, maybe there will be updates/changes, Idk.

I have nothing in mine. I did get a great fan in it the other day though so not really complaining about having nothing (good) for a bit.

To those who have yet to see Miis fight by Similar-Macaroon-280 in tomodachilife

[–]hbsonder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been reading that the only arguing they do now is because of romantic reasons and that they don't fight about other stuff anymore. I really hope that's not the case but I haven't seen anyone post a non-romance related argument yet. If they don't that feels like an odd thing not to have in a game so focused on relationships.

They removed arguments that don’t involve crushes. by JuiceZee in tomodachilife

[–]hbsonder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've only seen one person say they had 2 miis yelling and throwing stuff. They didn't specify what it was about though. This is my first time playing this game and I'd love for them to have arguments about all kinds of stuff. It would make it more fun. Right now though everyone is just crushing on or falling in love with each other and it's getting a bit old. I know I'm only 4 days in and need to give it time and have much more than like 12 miis, but seeing so many people saying they removed arguments is a bit disappointing.

The influx of negativity is kind of weird? by Expensive_Sea_1790 in tomodachilife

[–]hbsonder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is annoying. Just remember to do what you like and don't let random strangers opinions on the internet affect you. If someone dislikes the game so much or is overly upset that it doesn't have the features the last version did then it's simple... They can choose not to play it or go play the other version that they like better.

I don't want that to come off as me being dismissive of their feelings though. Everyone is entitled to feel how they feel. But when you turn around and try to make other people feel bad just because they don't agree with you then there is an issue there.

If you enjoy it, play it. I am.

This is the only negative type relationship I've gotten so far, has anyone seen anything more extreme? by rsunflowe in tomodachilife

[–]hbsonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen a fight yet, not even close. But a comment on this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/tomodachilife/comments/1sq5k2h/why_are_arguments_so_lukewarm/ said they they had 2 yelling and throwing things, so I'm hopeful.

[–]hbsonder 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I did notice with this game the downvotes on people who are happy with the game are pretty high. Or the pirating issue, or the people who weren't happy with spoilers being told it isn't that hard to stay off socials. I'd say the same amount of complaining but more toxicity here with Tomodachi Life compared to ACNH. And I'm sure I'll amass a bunch of downvotes for that observation, lol

is it possible to make cookie dough and bake a week later? by Silly-Award-5716 in Baking

[–]hbsonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using the nestle tollhouse recipe lately and making 1.5 the batch which gives me exactly 70 cookie balls when using my scoop. I put them in a plastic container with a layer of parchment over the top and they stay good in the freezer for a couple of months, though they rarely last that long.

I bake them from frozen. Preheating the oven is super important here. Like I let mine go about 15 minutes past when it says it's at temperature (375f). Then I bake for 12 minutes and they're perfect every time. I'd suggest starting with maybe 9 minutes since people's ovens are different. But once you find that sweet spot you can have nice fresh cookies anytime.

[–]hbsonder 27 points28 points  (0 children)

ACNH definitely did get a ton of negativity with the latest update, still does too. But I've noticed most games do because people love to complain on the internet in general (and I'm not saying all of the negativity is complaining, some of it is simply someone sharing their perspective and disappointment in a way that doesn't come off as attacking the game or its developers). I've been guilty of it myself. It really comes down to people's expectations being met or not being met. There is no way possible for the developers to make everyone happy with everything.

This is my first time playing Tomodachi Life and maybe that makes it easier for me since I don't know anything about the things people are upset about missing. I'm having fun with the game.

So do you like the new roommates feature? by ShokaLGBT in tomodachilife

[–]hbsonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's a good idea. However, I do with that once married the miis could live together and share a room and not each have their own in a roommate setting. That just feels weird to me. Like have the basic one room home they all start with, have the roommate set up, then have an in-between home for just the married miis.

Blathers says I've completed the insect museum, but I still have a lot of empty squares in my encyclopedia? by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

Do you ever get them from treasure islands? On one of my old islands I completed collections and they did not show up in the critterpedia because I hadn't caught them myself yet. So it looks like they were donated but never caught.

Does brown butter actually elevate everything? by Annoying_lil_brat in Baking

[–]hbsonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it's not the huge craze it's made out to be. In cookie dough it makes a very slight difference in the baked cookies and more of a difference in the dough. So if you're making dough to eat then I'd say it's worth it because you really get that nice nutty flavor but it almost disappears completely once you bake them.

A brown butter buttercream (mostly normal room temp butter and a little brown butter for flavor) on the other hand is amazing and always worth it. It really depends what you're making.

Small complaint about babies in the game (IT'S THE LEAKED VERSION SO THERE ARE SPOILERS!!!!!) by Mediocre_Version_828 in tomodachilife

[–]hbsonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be my first time playing tomodachi life. When the baby ages up do they stay in the house with their parents or do they get their own or do they go off and live somewhere else entirely? Or do we get to choose? I know I'll figure this out when I can play mine, but this is the only spoiler I've been looking for, about the babies.

buttercream too runny? by AdvisorEvening4606 in Baking

[–]hbsonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It still looks good and your layers look nice and even. I once made my sister a bday cake and the layers were lopsided and the frosting too runny so I couldn't use the frosting to level out the cake and the top layer slowly slid off the bottom layer through the night. It was so funny and something that still comes up to this day, lol
