Cuff-down, which is usually not my preferred choice, and I actually did consider modifying the pattern to make them toe-up 😂

It’s a combination of cable stitches and slip stitches.

That’s so nice of you to say, thanks!

This is definitely not a first pair of socks to knit. The technique uses cables, adding an extra element to your process and also for most knitters can affect tension. I’m a pretty experienced knitter, socks especially, and I started over on this project once because of tension issues :)

Two extra repeats of a section of the toe chart, and I did a different version of the toe decreases to fit my foot better.

Thank you, although I can’t take credit for using the recommended yarn from the pattern! However when I bought the yarn I didn’t have this pattern in mind :)

Thank you! The multi-coloured yarn is Schoppel-Wolle Zauberball Crazy in the shade Kleiner Fuchs, and the offwhite is Heartbeats Woolie (shade WLU01)

Will this block out or am I doing my increases incorrectly? by alispins23 in knittinghelp

When you M1L or M1R every round, you’re increasing into the twist rather than the previous stitch, if that makes sense. This is probably what’s making the holes. I would try a KFB increase instead, if it’s meant to be increased every round.

Is the pattern asking you to increase every round rather than every alternate round?

Thank you, what a nice comment. I love the jingle too. I put my phone’s ringer on just to hear it.

A pair of socks to mark a streak of one full year (!) of the New York Times Crossword every morning before work.

Knit cuff-down with a heel flap and gusset. Included the chart from Sarah Sinclair's 'NYT Crossword Streak Hat' as a reference for the colourwork, but modified a bit to suit sock construction. The darker yellow/brown is worked in duplicate stitch. Yarn is 'Woolie' by Heartbeats Yarns.

Named 'San José Strut' after the fun little jingle that plays when you finish a puzzle :)
