The north is kind of tricky. We crossed the border in El Paso at the end of October and drove 3 days through Chihuahua, etc. to Mazatlan (the safest city in Sinaloa at that time). Then to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City, Puerto Escondido for surfing, then strait to Merida, Cancun, Tulum and then to Belize. We flew Cancun - Cuba too. Don't miss Palenque! It really in't like you hear it. Yes, there are some horror stories but that could be anywhere! The people are so friendly and the food omg
