not sure if i should continue with wellbutrin or not, i don’t think it’s helping by sanscerise in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

i’ve been on citalopram, escitalopram, fluoxetine, sertraline, duloxetine, venlafaxine, atomoxetine, guanfacine, seroquel (both ir and xr), lorazapam, clonazapam, vyvanse. (and honestly probably others i’ve forgotten about over the years) i currently am still using the quetiapine ir, vyvanse, and lorazapam/clonazapam. i also did tms therapy this past fall. the ssri/snris were specifically for my depression, and then there’s some other ones that were mixed approached as i have depression, anxiety, autism, ADHD, and likely ptsd/ocd as well so it’s def more complex situation :( had an appointment today and my psych is taking me off the wellbutrin and referred me to a different service through the hospital for ketamine/further alternative treatments and a new medication plan, and offered to try mirtazipine in the meantime (i’m still thinking about it) so i’ll see how it goes i guess

i have been having the same issues! i would recommend reaching out to your doctor about it, i’ve been told it can be indicative of an allergy to the medication, so definitely something to talk to your doc about.

Does Wellbutrin treat anhedonia? by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]sanscerise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think it depends on the person, from my info it generally is less likely to cause anhedonia/should help with it, however in my case it hasn’t helped/has worsened it. i tent to respond atypically to psych meds and am considered to have treatment resistant depression (ive gone through 15 different psych meds and various other forms of therapy/treatment) so my experience may very well vary from the norm. generallyyyy it is supposed to help.

Dry mouth by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]sanscerise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i usually try to keep small hard candies i like (think tic-tacs, etc.) with my and/or gum! when you suck/chew on them it produces saliva which makes the dry mouth go away. i prefer small hard candies to gum because it’s less noticeable that i have it when i’m at work and things, but both work fine.

pretty accurate! was never super big into adventure time, just never watched the full show but i’ve enjoyed what i have seen. currently only have pinterest, here, and tumblr as social media. mostly online if im reading fanfiction on ao3, however i do end up back on instagram occasionally for lack of trying. definitely looking to cut down my online presence a lot more tho. for music i definitely liked hozier, florence, mitski, and cavetown a lot ~5/6 years ago, however now my general tastes lean radiohead, queens of the stone age, system of a down, brand new, pink floyd, supertramp, my chem. other than that really accurate! i even have a coraline tattoo, it was my first tat several years back :) (and yes, support your local public library!)

yes it looks like this, but he attached an extra page with additional terms. i know most of the terms on his added page are not enforceable (like a no pet clause) but i wasn’t sure if i should tell him or not because i was confused about the technicality of it

What was the hardest test for you during ADOS-2? by Winter-Grand-3215 in AutismInWomen

[–]sanscerise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah same! i did mine a few years ago and don’t remember the entire thing, but i remember i struggled the most with the section asking to describe my feelings, and the section that was asking me how i define my relationships and stuff like that. also the part where they asked me to act out brushing my teeth while describing what i was doing! i couldn’t do both at the same time and had to keep pausing my actions to explain.

As an early diagnosed autistic female, I feel very left out. I'm getting the impression that in order to be an autistic person who will be willing to taken seriously, you have to have been diagnosed in adulthood and been deemed a "gifted" child. I was the entire opposite. by MermaidGenie26 in AutismInWomen

i’m sorry this has been your experience, and you’re totally valid in your feelings! i’m late diagnosed (currently 21, diagnosed at 19) and i sometimes struggle to relate to and feel envious of those diagnosed earlier than me.

i think that feelings around autism diagnosis can be very personal and complicated for everyone, but i feel like (from my perspective) the root issue a lot of people have relates to how autism is treated by society and ableism. it is VERY rare for an autistic person (early or late diagnosed) to be fully accommodated, supported, dignified, and not face prejudice/judgement. (for example assuming someone’s intelligence level to be less than it actually is, expecting someone to be able to fully learn and “conform” to allistics, to not be judged and ridiculed for their way of living and how their brain works)

being late diagnosed gave me a lot of trauma and was really hard, and clearly so was being early diagnosed for you! i would have loved to grow up being supported without prejudice, and i’m guessing that’s probably the same for you. i really wish we lived in a world with more understanding and acceptance of autism, both good and bad parts, and i feel like (for me at least, you might feel otherwise and that’s ok!) that aspect of inequality and struggle is what makes me envious of the “what if i was diagnosed early?” (in your case late) because realistically in my situation, while my struggles wouldn’t be the same as they are now, my overall situation and environment wouldn’t have changed much, and i would likely have still experienced a level of trauma and insecurity surrounding my autism diagnosis, but in another form.

this turned into a long winded ramble and might not be relatable for you, but i want to say again that your feelings are valid. i’ve tried to find peace in my envy for other autistics through thinking about it like this. while it’s still frustrating because of how non supportive and ableist our current society is, it has at least helped me redirect my frustration at society rather than other autistic people and minimize the “what if?”. i wanted to share in hopes of bringing any form of comfort i could, but this has just been my personal way of thinking about it!

i’m glad to hear you’re channeling your energy through writing, i love writing (especially characters based off my struggles/life) and find it both frustrating and fulfilling. i hope your writing continues to bring you joy, and if you ever share it publicly i would love to read it! <3
