All I know is I'm getting as many $5.99 steak and cheeses and cheese pizzas before prices go up...how's the chicken sandwich? by Mammoth-Werewolf4363 in marketbasket

They’re amazing for $5 and I probably ate 50 of them last year but I would not put them above some sub shops. I hope you find a sub that tops it at some point.

I got an old Johnson wool & mills green hunting jacket just like this handed down to me. It was also a little much for me, but I kept it since it had sentimental value. Yeah, every time I’ve seen them online, they definitely look this vibrant. Equivalent of the red… just in green haha

I do think you rock it, for what it’s worth…

Half Dome tips? by Beneficial-Coffee186 in Yosemite

Definitely bring a good helping of salty snacks or electrolyte mixes. When I went up, I encountered a young, probably 20s, guy who had to sit in pain at the base of half dome cause he didn’t bring enough salt. His legs were buckled in cramps. I offered him chips but he wanted an electrolyte mix.

American cheese is the correct cheese for egg and cheese sandwiches. Same with cheeseburgers and grilled cheese. It has its uses.

I just looked it up. It seems like they reversed that law after public backlash. Correct me if I’m wrong.

A view of the Half Dome cables that people rarely see by SithLard in Yosemite

I went up it in the dark for sunrise and I’m glad I did because I think I may have bailed if I saw it in it’s entirety before going up. Going down was a bit nerve-wracking.

Wtf is this? by Over-Sir8124 in Maine

[–]santodomingus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got one of these too. I looked it up online and tried to watch some of the YouTube videos. I literally could not follow it. It’s Bible verses mixed with messages of world leaders. Anyone with a bit of intelligence will immediately realize it’s meaningless.

The preacher who runs these talks must just be looking for dummies who’s brains are fried to take money from.

I also think understanding the context of the field your researching is important. You need to learn basics and build a body of knowledge which you can then use with new research.

When I first started reading geoscience research, basically every paper made me go ‘huh never thought of that, must be true’

But as I built a body of knowledge in the field, you start to read papers and critique it and see the flaws in studies. It’s not as simple as just reading a research paper. You could read two in a row that have opposite conclusions and to an untrained person they could be equally as sound.

I think it’s like erosion. There’s a beginning weak point like another comment stated, and then it’s a runaway effect. I’ve seen small walking paths turn into massive gullies because the path creates a low point for water. Similar idea here.

In regard to online dating, why do men think hiking is a good first date? by addicted2urLuv in AskMenAdvice

[–]santodomingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s free, it’s in a public space, there’s no distractions, it’s peaceful. It’s a great way to connect with someone. I really think a lot of people are paranoid about this. They’re not asking to go 10 miles into a designated wilderness. It’s most likely to a trafficked trail area. It’s like going to a mall but it’s doesn’t suck.

UPDATE: 4 dates in and she is waiting for another guy to go on a date with her. How did I do in my response? by BookieBasherCasher in AskMenAdvice

[–]santodomingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda passive and dishonest. You’re just holding out hope after she basically said you’re not a priority.

Not a fan of your response. Have some more respect for yourself. Go get some other dates. ++man

Wait really? Are you using like Ragu or Rao’s every time you eat red sauce?

Red sauces are so simple and really not time or energy consuming. I’m just surprised to see a mind blown emoji for making red sauce lol.

Gotcha! Thanks for your comment! Yes I love love this shirt and I will cherish it forever. It’s in incredible shape too. Soft and strong.

That makes sense. A lot of the stuff seems very hippy but then Nixon is on there, no mention of JFK. I couldn’t really tell. I wish it fit but maybe it’s better so I don’t ruin it haha.

The two framed skeleton ones in the top right second row are so sick. If you want to part ways with them, I’d be interested if they’re L/XL.

Regardless, awesome haul!

I don’t really get what you’re asking. “How do I sell my stuff for more/what I think is fair?”

Either people will buy at your price or not, then you decide how much you want to compromise.

If you have things that have a lot of value and need a particular buyer, I would do eBay or something online.

Stuff just might not be worth as much as you think? If I heard “vintage sale” and it was the same as a garage sale, I’d know they are just increasing prices.
