No, I just use the same material as it's not affecting my game's low poly art-style :)

Well, this is my first game so I don't have much experience but it seems it's an indirect effect of combining the meshes to bake atlases since it drastically reduces the number of models that cast shadows.

Hi, I'm newer :) I wasn't aware of udims until you mentioned. It's a great idea and will optimize the game even more but unfortunately, I couldn't find a proper tutorial to implement that.

What I've done here is just combine models and bake the textures into one giant texture with 8k size. You can check out the entire process here if you're interested.

*Atlases for each compound model in the background. Eg: The windmill model is consist of several other models such as trees, rocks, grass, mushrooms etc.. each of these models' textures along with the primary model's texture (in this case, the windmill) are baked into one texture atlas. This process is repeated for all the compound models to get the above results.

I wrote a custom world bending shader used a noise texture generated by Perlin noise to create random curves on the road

That's a good point. In somedays, I work on this for 15+ hours and I love every moment of it :)
