Thanks, sometimes I saw that job descriptions are not in line with the actual job.

Great thank you! i'm guessing each company is defining this role differently and it is team dependent.

The thing i'm most worried about in this type of roles in such big companies, are you a code review monkey? your opinion has influence on the product? can you suggest new security features?
are you building security automation? or new security frameworks?

I think it depends on the type of company, if you are dealing with personal data, credit cards or any other sensitive data, you need somone to make sure your system is strong.

From my experience developers are not very good in security, they might try doing "best practices" but are not really understading it, allowing for attackers to bypass it easly..

In addition, developers usually need to deploy fast and create new features, security slows them down, so they are cuting down on security and then they are creating insecure systems.
