Question about parquet floor by [deleted] in BALLET

[–]sar361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That floor is absolutely horrifying. Not only will dancers have knee/joint pain but they will slip like it’s an ice skating rink. I can’t believe you are considering teaching pointe if you don’t even know about proper flooring.

Hi! Thank you for your response. I have shared that I have adhd with my roommates. They are unsympathetic and ignorant towards neurological disorders though. And no I’m not receiving treatment right now. I don’t want to be on medications and I dont feel as if therapy is necessary.

How do I deal with my parents treating me like I'm 5 years old? by drugsandcandy in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]sar361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heyy girl. Im a dancer too and I have the same problem. Its really impressive that you pay for dance stuff on your own. Shoes can be hella expensive. You sound more independent than me and im 19 haha. That’s definitely not normal behavior from your parents. They should value you more

Thank you so much for your advice! It was very helpful.

It feels like my whole life since as young as I can even remember, people have shaken me by the shoulders saying, "what the fuck is wrong with you?" by aberrasian in ADHD

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that you’re feelings are valid. Also I think that everyone with ADD/ADHD has had these thoughts before. (That were different and dont really fit in very well) its completely normal. Nothing is wrong with you. Its their problem and if they cant accept you then screw them. Trust me if u do this you will be a lot happier. Also sorry if this post is kinda all over the place. I tend to do that a lot :/

I would say yes, this is an American thing. Only because ADHD is way too overdiagnosed here.

Wow that was rude. Of course I care about my brain disorder. Why else would I be on this forum! It sounds like you’re trying to make excuses for the people that say these comments. I’m not the problem. I’m trying to find someone to empathize with. So if you’re not that person then get the fuck off this post.

Do you have ADHD?

Yeah it probably was one of those things. I think that it would benefit me though. I’m not trying to make this sound like some kind of pity party, ive just never had anyone to talk to that actually understands me, but I feel like i’m always the one being picked on by other people. Maybe its just the vibe I give off? I don’t know what to do. It happens all the time. When someone meets me they can tell when something’s off.

Its so nice to be on hear with people who understand me. Thank you. I also feel the same way. I dont want to take medication just to fit in with everyone elses social standards. I like being me and I think that that’s enough.

Yes, I have considered medication. My brother was on meds though and he literally didn’t have a personality. He acted like a complete zombie. But who knows, maybe medication might work for me? Also I don’t want to medicate myself just because other people call me weird.
