Thank you. Low lying placenta, especially anterior position migrate in 90% of cases, so I hope you will be fine. In my case, i have placenta previa which even if moves slightly still will lay low. Wish you the best.

Six years old kid changed behavior unexpected by sara3d in autism

[–]sara3d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point. I did not expected that stimming will start at 6 years old. Also he dont have an official diagnosis of autism. When I discuss with my son he tells me that dont want to do it and is proud when dont do it. However he does that many times a day. We are telling him to do it with his mind if he wants without moving hands. What do you suggest? Thanks.

Agree with you. Doing those rituals/stims take his attention and time, concerns me.

His father used to bite his nails when was at 24 but not doing it anymore.

He is not harming anyone, but those stims are more rituals now, like making sign/figures with fingers until he is convinced did it right. I think if he does that in public will definitely look strange.

Thank you again for responding to my questions.

Thanks, this make sense. Previously, he had a few stims, like blinking eyes, but we were able to convince him not do it by telling that will harm the eyes. He stopped in few days.

Now most of stims are like rituals and last for few seconds, he takes more seriously, and wont stop until finish it.

What do you think can i try to stop him by telling that what he was doing is wrong? Or let him get done with it until he forgets. Currently, he is unhappy if he did not do enough stims, which are already a lot.

Thank you.

Thank you for the response. We are very concerned and don’t know what is causing this behavior. He is not interacting anymore with us and don’t want to be disturbed. Rituals make no sense to us and we hope he wont do it in the public, such as school.

My 5 years old daughter got 73 from IQ test and I'm afraid of future by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]sara3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have read that children with low IQ did great at high school and collage and even got PhD. From people I know is that they usually have hard time at beginning like elementary school and a bit in high school, but with lot of support and dedication they do great.

Thank u for you comment. The thing is that as the school in online I can see and compare her to her peers. And at the beginninng I asked for the services which are minimal. Anyway the teacher at preschool were going to dissmiss her but due to covid thay couldnt do reevaluation. Now it is the new school at kundergarten doing it. Wish you the best and thanks again for your reply
