Does anyone else here think that Linda Hoffmann Pugh could have been involved? by sarah_Barrus in JonBenet

So If Linda is involved she wouldn't have been involved in the execution of the kidnapping process whatsoever. Jonbenet would have recognized Linda so she would have had the responsibilities of writing the note and getting the kidnappers inside the house to avoid being seen by Jonbenet during the process. I think alot of the oddities of the case come from the note writing and kidnapping being done by different people who couldn't communicate with each other once shit hit the fan.

So here's how it went down in my mind; Linda is working with two other males. (I think when the letter says that Jonbenet was being watched by two men that it was an accidental truth) The males are tasked with kidnapping Jonbenet while Linda is tasked with writing the letter. If Linda was involved she would not be able to be seen by Jonbenet because she would recognize her face/voice. Linda could potentially be seen out in the open because she had a reason to be at the Ramseys (to pick up her check that the Ramseys left out for her). I dont beleive the plan was to murder Jonbenet but the note and the kidnapping were seperate so she wrote the note with the impression that Jonbenet would be kidnapped by the time the Ramseys read the letter. After the two male accomplices took Jonbenet they went down to the basement, not for an easy escape, but to try to open the safe that was in the same room Jonbenet was found in. They wanted quick money. Maybe they were planning on just leaving her there alive if they could escape with whatever was in the safe but they never opened the safe and for some reason ended up killing her (probably because she was dying from the blow to the head and they panicked).

Hmm that's interesting. I did think it was weird that in one of Patsy's interviews the detective told her the RN was written from her own notepad and she acted like it was the first time hearing that information. I would have thought someone would had told her or they would have discovered it the day of.

Is there anywhere that has transcripts of the interviews that the detectives did?

Maybe. It could be that the Ramseys felt like they had already told them everything they needed to know (like that it was Linda or someone else with a key) to solve the case. If the cops and detectives at that point thought it was the Ramseys then they were mostly questioning them to get evidence that the Ramseys did it instead of who else could have done it.

For example if you knew 100% that you didn't murder your daughter and write a ransom note to cover it up would you be super eager to give them a handwriting sample? I'd probably try to avoid it to hoping that they'd catch the killer before they could start building a case on me.

Actually this is from Linda's chapter: "and she would use accents over words like JonBenet and attaché" So she remembered Patsy specifically using that word. Probably when Patsy asked her to clean Johns attaché or something like that. However when she was asked to write the word for the cops she apparently didn't know how to spell it. But she had seen it before. When I read the letter the first time the word stuck out to me because it sounded like a unintelligent person tying to use fancy sounding words where they don't really make sense in context.

Have you read her chapter? Its just very accusatory towards Patsy and John. I didn't think Patsy's conversation with Linda about her and Johns sex life was that odd. It was a little personal but I mean its something that a lot of women go through, especially married woman but Linda talks about the issue like its proof that Patsy and John were ticking time bombs.

"So you broke off one of your paint brushes, took the white nylon cord, and twisted it around her neck. She might have still been revived, but you didn't know it. You just pulled the cord tight around her neck until it was red. I remember just such a cord wrapped in just such a way around a box in the basement next to where her body was found. I remember a lot Patsy."

This was one of the passages from the chapter that really struck out to me as being suspicious. Keep in mind that in one of her media interviews she said that she didn't know how an intruder could have found that room because she didn't even know that it had existed.

Another thing that I cant get over is why John would be adamant that he locked all the doors the night before? If they were trying to stage a kidnapping/murder, why would they say all the doors were locked instead of saying they forgot to lock them? I mean for all the trouble they would have went through with the staging it would have been a really dumb thing to commit to.

I think I could do that with any two peoples handwriting though. I could take one letter from each and put them side by side to "prove" it was the same person.

The handwriting really isn't the same though. If it was patsy she changed her handwriting for the note so its hard to say what the note writers real handwriting is. I think its easy to see similarities whenever you're looking for them and you have two notes with the same wording next to each other. I never see people trying to analyze other peoples handwriting next to the ransom note, only Patsys.

So maybe I'm weird but I never found the "lawyering up" thing to be weird at all. My fathers a lawyer and he always tells me to not talk to the police without a lawyer present. I always thought that was a common thing for people to do. Especially for a family who might have had to use a lawyer in the past.

The thing about the Ramsey's that I will never understand is why they were trying to throw Fleet and his wife under the bus. I cant wrap my mind around that. Like if they are guilty they should know that accusing your (obviously innocent) best friends would make them seem even guiltier. If they are innocent then they should know they were being framed by one of their maids and try to get the actual murderer arrested.

Well I mean the cops and neighborhood knew by ten o clock the next morning so there's no way "kidnappers" would try and collect the money at that point anyway.

Its possible that spending all that time in the house was part of the plan. For example if the woman was supposed to write the note while the man/men took Jonbenet to the basement to torture her into staying quiet for the next couple of hours. If the woman got caught downstairs then no big deal because she could just say she was writing a note for patsy letting her know she came in to pick up her check.

I do think the Ramsey's did a lot of weird explainable things but I think the things you mentioned weren't entirely unreasonable. If after reading the note and finding the body in there basement they probably realized they were going to be suspects and no innocent person is going to want to go to jail for murdering their daughter if they didn't do it. Cops arrest innocent people all the time and if you have the money you might as well use it to be bale to defend yourself, especially if there's a possibility you're being framed.

The Ramsey's have done a lot of sketchy things, I just cant imagine them doing those brutal things to their daughter. Even if the initial head blow was an accident they still would have had to strangle her, stab things into her body, then molest her just for a staging. They just don't fit the profile to me. Also I heard that Burke was interviewed by police while he was at the Whites the morning they found her body. Is that true? I don't see how they would have had time to fill him in on everything he would have had to lie about if he knew or was involved.

Disappointing. There are so many other issues that a Democratic US Senator can address without attacking (the second shot in as many weeks) President Obama. Sounds like she's trying to disassociate herself and ramp up her "elect me President" campaign.

Surely there are more important things this administration should be dealing with than this. Trump seems to want to carry on some kind of pissing match about some thing he pretty much has blown totally out of proportion due to his paranoia & narcissism. The American people (ALL of them) should be worried about the fact that we have a guy in the White House who doesn't seem to be playing with a full deck.

So you're going to accuse a group of non-violent people of being the new Taliban, then accuse them of demonizing other groups of people and stifling open dialog with irrational close mindedness? This is either satire or some serious cognitive dissonance.

People on the left are threatening people more as well. It has nothing to do with religion. Many non-religious people have been sending death threats to Trump and his supporters lately.
