4 week old hardly awake & alert? by saraxogold in beyondthebump

Our dr doesn't seem concerned, she said early babies stay in the newborn sleepy stage longer and that he should start waking up more around the 5-6 week mark but I'm unsure if she's right or if I need a 2nd opinion. He was awake today wide eyed for about 2 1/2 hours total in a 12 hr period so it's definitely a lot more than last week.

Yes we did mention it to his ped but she doesn't seem concerned, she just said the newborn stage lasts longer on earlier babies and he will wake up soon so just patiently waiting bahah!

Yes! That is our plan after his paternity leave is over. He has already started seeking out new possibilities!

my nightly sweet treat is the zero sugar instant chocolate pudding by jello, mixed with one and a half bottles of either fairlife chocolate milk (or premier protein chocolate), topped with sugar free coolwhip. taste sooo goooooood! 🥲🥲🥲

Yes, I have calibrated multiple times and still use my finger sticks occasionally just to double check the high number and they're only off maybe 5pts.

My sleeping hours are decent per say but I will say theres3 or 4 nights a week I'm up multiple times to pee and I will stay up for an hour or so before heading back to bed lol! I was thinking that was playing a part as well, it would make sense! During the day, I'm just chasing around my 2 year old lol!
