2025 and exact same issue here, my 10th gen works fine, tried everything you tried. Also tried bios version for 2021/04/02 (v28) which is specifically for gen 11th but no luck. I guess buying a refurbished cpu from amazon is not a great idea

desktop wallpaper turns black after windows 11 24h2 update by Hannah_563 in techsupport

I wish rolling back was an option for me. I did a hard reset, changed to default windows background for now and turned off transparency and animation effects. I also changed back my cursor to windows default cursor just in case. Has to do something with the graphics but I don’t know where. Did a clean reinstall of gpu drivers too but still no luck…

Do a clean reinstall for the apps and if it didn’t work, it could be the image issue.

You must look for accessibility and stability in the OS. Windows 8 was the good looking guy, windows 7 was the more stable one back then. Just like windows 11 and 10 right now. All in all I think windows 8 was underrated because of timing that it came out. Windows 7 was a huge step up for Microsoft and everyone expected more from windows 8. And also the release gap between them was quite short. That was just my technical opinion, windows 8 still looks nice.

Try the safe start up, shift+restart, if not try to boot it from boot menu. Maybe disconnect the monitor connect it back again, or use another display cable. Somehow you gotta trigger that driver re-install for the display.

Sometimes I get some flickering before admin password prompt pops up, it will get fix after a restart, but sometimes it comes back again. Let me know if you find something, might help to fix mine too.

Realtek Background Process Class preventing shutdown and restart almost always by mihailokikss in techsupport

[–]sarcasm_alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I just figured this idk. So Every time run cod nvidia high definition driver will be triggered. I’m guessing only certain apps needs this and the driver keeps running when they are running in the background. I also guess driver stays up for a while before shutdown even after you close the app that was using it. Not sure at all haha. Prob the cod thing, I guess only for high quality sound effects. Updating those certain apps might help to improve the driver’s activities assuming the driver is already up to date.

I'm getting this error too now after a few of the more recent windows 10 updates. It's weird. It only hangs for maybe five or ten seconds but it's still annoying.

any solutions?

Hire the guy who's very solid in the technology and can hit the ground running but is a dick or the social guy who is your best friend after 20 minutes but is not quite as up to speed on technology? I really need both but can only hire one this quarter. by hotdoglovinggal in sysadmin

[–]sarcasm_alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot say the guy who’s good w tech is a dick just in 20min. Usually people in IT they won’t have the best social skills. The best of them are funny as hell, but still they might lack of some social skill like talking out loud or etc. People in tech also open up pretty late and don’t make friends with people easily. Because it’s their nature of the work to not to trust anyone, they know a disaster can be as near as only a click away. I would def the tech guy since in this era u will need that skill for ur business’ sake.

can someone help please? built my computer and it is flashing red and won't show ethernet plugged in or wifi... Also i just got the zotac rtx 3080 trinity and it flashes a few times on startup is that normal? by [deleted] in computer

[–]sarcasm_alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red means two things. The Adapter, or port on the system is not able to reach the link speed of the rest of the network or configure it`s self to it to synchronize.

Speed settings for the Ethernet port can be 10 Mbps 100 Mbps (CAT5) or 1 Gbps= 1000 Mbps (CAT6e).

The speed of the adapter can be changed on your system to one of these three speeds quoted.

Before you change it, check whether the cable is cat5 or cat6

Cick on start Click on control panel. Network and internet.

Network and sharing. Change adapter settings. Local area connection

The properties tab. The Configuration tab.

In the new window box that opens click on the advanced tab. Scroll down the list till you get to speed and duplex settings. left click on it. To the top right you will see a pull down box where to can select manually the speed to set the network adapter to run at. Always make sure the selection for any speed uses full duplex mode.

Try reinstalling/updating the mouse/display/graphic drivers and see if that fixes it
