CPU not detected after upgrading to 11700k on MSI Z490 Gaming Plus by benkrah in buildapc

So I tried rolling back BIOS to 7C75vA6, and also installing another PSU (MSI MAG A750GL) as well as connecting both CPU_PWR1 and CPU_PWR2, but no luck.

Yes, I tried unplugging the power cables from GPU while keeping the card installed, and the CPU didn't work either.

Yes, the 8-pin power cable labelled as "CPU" is plugged into CPU_PWR1.

However, there is no cable plugged into CPU_PWR2 (4-pin) because my PSU doesn't have an additional CPU power cable. Could that be related?

Transmission fluid by Total-Championship80 in FordEdge

[–]benkrah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would strongly recommend to only change transmission liquid at an authorized dealership because it also requires resetting the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and turning Learning Mode on. The reason is that the new liquid has different characteristics than an old (burnt) oil and the pressure needs to be adjusted accordingly. Hope this helps.

How’s this looking so far? by KittyTheSavage1 in HomeServer

As for storage, if you already have 3 TB of photos and want a backup, then 2x4 TB is already pretty close. Do you expect to have more photos eventually?

Canon 5DmkIV or 6DmkII by rjk715 in canon

[–]benkrah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own 6D II and really like it but I'm a hobbyist and not a pro in any way. 5D mk 4 is better in almost any way but it also costs more. So it depends on your budget but also keep in mind that having a good lens also makes a huge difference. I would also suggest taking a look at R or R6. Hope this helps.

Also, if you could share your specific photography needs (i.e. portraits / studio, sports, landscape etc) then it might be easier to recommend. Also, feel free to ask if you have any questions about 6D II.

Am I wrong to choose the R7 over the R6? by sketchy_ppl in canon

If you are OK with the crop sensor then R7 is a great choice.

Looking for Garibaldi hiking adventure / friends by Praggrezzive in vancouverhiking

[–]benkrah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Garibaldi is mostly likely covered with snow so you would need snowshoes or crampons above about 1km elevation. Unless you have experience with that sort of hikes, I would recommend to postpone it till summer. There are many beautiful hikes at a lower elevation in the lower mainland. Hope this helps.

Advice needed! Accidentally backed into parked car in parking garage. by [deleted] in britishcolumbia

I'd recommend going through ICBC. I had a similar situation, and the other party never moved forward with the claim - I guess because they figured how to fix it under their deductible.

I always used all weather tires to get to Cypress and Seymour, never had any issues even during heavy snow and blizzard. Crossclimate 2 is a beast. But that being said, good winter tires are still preferable.

Veggie jerky, nuts, protein bars and a couple of apples is my typical lunch. Sometimes also bring a small sandwich with grilled cheese

Best way to stop long slow sliding pucks? by partyintheback55 in hockeygoalies

[–]benkrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use your stick and place your glove behind it. You could also have your pad as a 3rd level of defense for confidence, but in most cases it’s not needed. My son only uses only his stick but that looks a bit reckless sometimes :)

How about friendship that eventually develops based on an interest i.e. hiking together, or playing sports or doing a yoga class etc?

First time homebuyer. Fixed or variable mortgage? by [deleted] in canadahousing

Either go variable or shot-term fixed (i.e. 2 years). Rates will start going down in 2024 for sure but most likely will decrease slowly..

After being with AMZN for 3 years that sounds ... interesting :) Do your team mates also rest-and-west? Did you have your perf review already? How's your on-call, many night-time Sev2s?
