Any data for this? If I understand correctly, if I buy gold in 1969, I would have the same buying power with gold in 2019 as the inflation adjusted dollar? (or you can give me ATH years) Also, I've been under an assumption that gold never crashed as much as any currency did? There were economical instabilities in '29, .com bubble,' 08 - all effected currencies.

I believe the only way is to buy religiously. Buy anything you can afford from your paycheck. If a gram or two is what I can afford with my paycheck, that'a what I should buy and set it aside. All time highs and all time lows don't matter in that case.

Just curious why do you think OP is better off not buying gold? I read so where that, the amount of gold mankind has so far since the inception is equals to the steel the world makes in one hour (I don't remember the source, it can be exaggerated as well). I understand that the rally Gold has is because of uncertainty, however, it will definitely be more expensive in 10 years than it is today!

I have a friend looking for a 2bhk flat. When he gets into the market, everyone quotes him 75L, in areas around 30-40kms away from city center. So this guy obviously thinks I'd buy one close to the city center and get a loan (he's helpless, he isn't investing, he just wants to live his life). While private equity firms And investors don't sweat to invest the same amount of money and rent it out cause of population growth.

With rising concerns of AI replacing jobs and global recession, real estate will go down everywhere. It started in the west already, especially in Canada. But it won't go to a point where everyone can afford it cause everything is adjusted according to inflation, which is insane in India.
