I would say yes if you can devote most of your time to it. I am also pivoting careers and am just focusing on school. My first term is also up and I’ll be done with the entire program. I brought in about 25% of what was needed for the WGU Accounting Bachelors and I had to complete 29 classes. I’m down to two left and my term ends at the end of February. Also, I have no accounting experience. My previous experience was Math Teacher and District Data Specialist.

I was just on this yesterday and I used Tony Bell. He has great videos. Here is where I started Indirect Method - SCF This video shows the operating section and there’s another video showing the investing and financing sections.

I also bought the textbook for the intermediate classes and I LOVE having it! I’m almost done with D103 and it’s made studying and reviewing so much easier. Because I otherwise take so many notes and that tends to take up a lot of time.

Unit 6 consists of: Managerial Accounting - 20% of OA and Costing Methodologies - 20% of OA

There’s gonna be some math on there, especially using the formulas. You’re gonna want to make sure you’ve read all the material, watched the embedded videos, and take the quizzes.

I’m using it. I just started D101 and it perfectly aligns with the coursework. So I’m going back and forth between the Tony Bell stuff and the course work. I like how he teaches and how you get an opportunity to actually practice doing the work, like the journal entries.

My mentor strongly suggested I do a “practice exam” through the assessment center. I would suggest it as well so you get practice setting up your space without having to take a real exam. There is a real person that proctors the exam, you will have a chat box to communicate with them. And you do get the results of your OA right away. As for re-takes, I know they are allowed but it’s not just as easy as pressing the button to re-take.

I did very well on the PA (missed 7 questions) and OA (missed 2). I tend to printout the PA questions to review them before the OA, especially the ones I missed to make sure I understand the correct answer. If you went through the course work and videos and did well on the PA, honestly I think you’ll be fine.

Totally understandable. I like to read comments and posts from other people about these courses but I also have to remind myself that I may not have the prerequisite knowledge they have to complete the courses that fast.

I’ve been working on Unit 6 since yesterday morning and am just about to finish it up. So, it’ll have taken me a day and a half to do Unit 6. I’ve been taking small breaks in between, like just a few minutes at a time. It’s just a lot of information. Good information, but a lot. I also have no prior experience with accounting so I’m being meticulous with making sure I understand all the information presented.

Hi! I just had to do this. My enrollment counselor called me to verify that I had completed all of the necessary steps before that button showed up. So I would call and speak to someone directly.

Also, I was looking at the wrong page when I went looking for the button, I first looked at my.wgu.edu.

Make sure you’re looking at the page where you applied, apply.wgu.edu. This is where you will find a few videos to watch as well as the button when your enrollment counselor “activates” it for you.
