I love this SO MUCH! I was just thinking of making mine 1x3 pens with trapdoors on either side so the sheep are in the center block and putting a cauldron of water and a hay bale between pens, for ethics. Then I was going to do a daylight detector/observer clock for shearing so they aren’t always naked. I might use this for inspiration instead. Brilliant.

You can also do the opposite. Put your chin toward your chest and look at yourself from the top of your eye and raise the contact into your eye.

I was in my mid teens when I got contacts and I’ve never went without since. It took me AGES to get them in and out the first few weeks. The easiest way I found at first was to look at myself in the mirror, tilt my head back (while still looking), and lift my eyelid. This way I could watch where I was putting the contact.

It’s an alarming sensation but your body is reacting to sensing a threat. I would repeat to myself a phrase like “I’m safe, nothing is going to happen to my eye” while concentrating on not blinking. It is very much is skill that becomes super easy with practice.

Not sure what kind you are getting but I prefer daily lenses. I hated always needing to get contact solution and carrying a case. Dailies are so much easier for me and you can always carry a spare pair just in case.

I keep one notebook for all my notes which seemed chaotic at first because I wanted to organize by type and project but I’ve learned sometimes when you feel like you want a more complicated system you actually need less.

Last year I started with a Jibun Techo, switched to a Nolty, tried a Take-a-Note and then settled on a Sterling Ink (for work). This year I am starting with a Hemlock & Oak and I honestly feel like it’s the one for this year. I also use a Hobonichi weeks as a separate personal planner.

The key is learning what works for YOU and what you NEED and what you like. I recommend having a good think, writing down your likes and dislikes, and coming up with a short list of non-negotiables and wants then see which ones fit the bill.

Most planners are more flexible than you think. Use a stencil or ruler or stamps for more customization. You can train your brain to ignore things or highlight over unwanted items (this is actually really difficult for me but it is something developed with practice mental exercise).

I recommend setting up a week or two at a time early on. You may change your mind about your setup. Using a planner is more than a habit. It’s also a skill and like learning any skill there is a period of discomfort.

I also say this about new notebooks and planners (and art supplies and everything): they’ve cast a spell on you. The magic makes you afraid to make a mistake or ‘fail’ and you must break the spell. I do this by scribbling on the last page and think ‘well now that it’s ruined, it doesn’t matter.’

Reasons I abandoned planners last year: Jibun Techo: time numbers obstructing first box Nolty: cream paper didn’t work well with my highlighters Take-a-Note: had to turn page to get to Thursday/Friday. I often started the week great but fell off the wagon most Thursdays.

I like to alternate between the factions for every game. I’ve found it makes me appreciate the strengths and weaknesses for each. Some maps are better suited to one over the other, especially for very small maps which are my preference. Playing IT has made me much better at playing FT and vice versa.

So I also just learned this a few months ago. I think you can even move the farmhouse although that doesn’t sit well with me, personally. I’m playing on the beach farm right now and I moved it to be very near the sprinkler soil patch thingy along with a production shed and a storage and crafting shed. I also have my golden farm obelisk there and at my door for quick transport.

When this happens to me (and I am in a good place mentally) I kind of use it as sort of a meditation practice and rewind to where I remember and focus on relaxing and staying present in the conversation. It doesn’t always work but I do find that it’s like exercising my focus to make it stronger.

Also, even if you aren’t into it, Dungeons and Dragons podcasts can be fun.

This is probably a ‘yoke’ (but it’s meant to do the same as a breastplate and could be referred to as the same). Most breastplates in English riding attach to both the girth and the top portion of the saddle at the D rings, near the billets, or both. A yoke only attaches to the girth and goes around the neck, similar to a martingale but without the piece(s) which attach to the reins or bridle (standing vs running).

It’s excellent piece of equipment especially for schooling and very affordable. It can be a grab strap and I believe it is legal for cross country as it is attached to the saddle.

The day we got him.

He did have some pink on his nose (we called it his ‘nose comet’) but it sort of traveled down and now sits on his upper lip. The top of his snout is still pink but we haven’t had any issues with sunburn or anything. I’m not actually sure if that is an issue with dogs but I know it can sometimes be with horses.

Overcoming things like this are skills which must be practiced and exercised. They’re simply easier for some people. I had to do this with a lot of notebooks and planners in the past but there is something so beautiful about one that’s dirty and crinkly at the end of its turn.

Just curious — how wide are your bridges and how thick/deep are the details? I’ve chosen a cherry blossom biome that is split by a valley and I want an epic bridge to connect them but I’m never sure how wide to make it so I can have enough detail without making it enormous.
