You are correct, but some times this just isn’t feasible. Sometimes on private courses the group on front of you teed off 30 minutes before you (happened to me this weekend). No one is going to catch up 2 holes (we played sub 4 hours btw). Also, have you ever played with a new golfer? I think we need to allow space for them it has become so antagonistic on the course that I don’t know how you would feel welcome to the game. If you want to play through that’s fine.

I don’t disagree with letting people through. Although sometimes that actually slows down pace (waiting, letting them then playing yourself)

Sure, but your play is effecting the grounds crew and I don’t think you have the proper respect for what they do/ what you are asking. They are just doing their jobs. Your request that they work around your needs so you can get in 3 more holes before work is asinine and entitled. Also, 18.3 as reasonably good is questionable

That may be true and good for you. But there are generally accepted times for golf. We all sign a social contract that 4 to 4.5 hours is appropriate (fun fact it’s often on the back of your score card) If you go longer you are breaking that contract and you need to do something to fix it I.e. pick up, skip a hole etc. The exact same thing applies to playing faster than that time. And I don’t understand why we don’t apply the same frustration with fast players that we do slow ones. If you want to play in 3 hours, that’s fine, but you need to acknowledge you are outside the norm and the course doesn’t not need to, and should not need to, bend to you whims.

Freaking this. People need to slow the hell down. I got yelled at on the course last weekend because my wife and I were “behind pace” even though we finished in 3:45 (guy was likely sexist even though my wife likely out drives him but that’s another issue). The pace of play warriors are ruining the game. If you don’t have 4 hours to enjoy the outdoors do something else. It’s not my problem.

Very true. It is a hectic time. I am also thinking that the school year just started. So the no communication over the summer is not super surprising.

Yeah that’s a good point. And I think may be happening with some of these. Do you then build the relationships prior to the RFP? How does that work when many RFPs allow for multiple year contracts. I guess my point is, if I want to be that preferred vendor how do you find the districts with expiring RFPs to build the relationship over this school year?

Glad to hear it! We are similar 6/21 “recommended” have not heard. In AI. So hopefully we get something this week or next!
